Tuesday, April 15, 2008. I'm not sure when it started or exactly why but I do know why I love them. I have an apron for all my needs and my families also. I have a clothes pin apron, a half apron (great for going over a big baby belly), a full apron, a basic black for hubby and several for my oldest daughter. I don't have one for the baby yet but I'm still not sure how that would work since she is only three months! To meet other apron loving farmgirls check out Mary Janes Farm. Monday, April 28, 2008. I've been longing for the beginning of spring since the beginning of March. I guess that is what happens after you live in the Southwest for a few years. Now that we are up north again spring never seems to come fast enough. Just the thought of planting my garden and working in the yard makes me happy. It has started to grow and I'm longing for the first of many dinners with asparagus this spring. For more farmgirl gardening info and tips join me over at Mary Janes Farm forums.

Sorry for those of you with slow downloads as this might take forever. This is the Boyne Mountain Lodge were we stayed. The waterpark was attached so we didn't have to go outside. Our room was the one on the top floor just left of the round stone wall. The girls loved the view of the duck pond below and the mountain was right in front of us too. Posted by Auntie Em.

The Lah Family Journal. Friday, December 25, 2009. Our Family Christmas in Pictures. It's been a wonderful Christmas here in the Lah household. Last week was Addie's Christmas Show at school. I guess some goofing off is allowed at Christmas when you're 6. We also visited with Emily's Great Uncle (Fr.) Mel and had a nice visit after mass. Later, we went to the children's museum and played and played and played. I think one of Emily's Uncle's was the inspiration for this doll. Dinosaurs (a little scary).

The Lah Family Journal. Wednesday, January 5, 2011. Christmas break is over. If you ask anyone in our house it was to short! We had a lot of fun but with the warm up and snow melting the fun was cut to short. Addie spent a day with a friend at the local nature center. They went snow shoeing, sledding, tracking, ate pizza and learned about winter nature stuff. They had a blast even through they were not in the same group all the time. Posted by Auntie Em. The Lah Family Journal. Thursday, May 28, 2009. The Month of May in Photos. Addie is turning into quite the soccer star. She finished up the spring season with some nice weather (for a change), and we got her signed up for the fall. The hens are about 2 months old. In a coule more, they'll start producing. I started their pen this weekend. The 'shelf' on the right is the roost, and the nesting box will go below it. We used scraps and samples from the bathroom floor to cover the floor of the coup.

The Lah Family Journal. Thursday, September 10, 2009. An End to Summer. School started on Tuesday and I just couldn't let my daughter start school without one last visit to my parent's farm. We had a wonderful week of enjoying nature and other local activities. There were flowers to decorate with. Cool evening breezes to rock in. Sisters to play with. Even free hair eating to boot'. Funny faces to make. Farmer markets to sample. Evening rides along the creek. Morning walks through the wildlife preserve.
