Starflower Bracken's Blog. Thoughts about OpenSim and the 3D Metaverse. OpenSim and what’s left of Second Life. I recently went back into Second Life and discovered that it basically looks the same only smaller than it ever did. Regions have vanished and everything looks like 2010. People are maintaining a presence but it looks dead. September 24, 2014. Posted by Starflower Bracken on September 24, 2014. ArtsPlace SL: July 2008
http://artfossett.blogspot.com/2008_07_01_archive.html
Thursday, 31 July 2008. Steven Warburton has a nice post on Liquid Learning. Discussing the barriers to innovation in virtual worlds in the context of teaching and learning. Six Barriers to Innovation in MUVE-based teaching. He suggests 6 areas in which there are barriers - technical, identity, culture, collaboration, time and economic - which seems like a useful breakdown to me. I suppose so. though SL already has an "IRC type chat client" (in-world chat - which in my experience serves perfectly wel...

lookat vector with OsTeleportAgent & OsTeleportOwner | Starflower Bracken's Blog

Starflower Bracken's Blog. Thoughts about OpenSim and the 3D Metaverse. Lookat vector with OsTeleportAgent & OsTeleportOwner. I’ve noticed various advice about how to point the agent (i.e. your avatar) after teleporting using a script in OpenSim. This is done with OsTeleportAgent. The lookat vector is actually implemented, which is rather pleasing. However, there is no documentation on how to use it, at the time of writing. Teleporting within the same region. So, to summarise, the agent is. Apparently, a...

C# coding in OpenSim | Starflower Bracken's Blog
https://starflowerbracken.wordpress.com/2014/10/12/c-coding-in-opensim
Starflower Bracken's Blog. Thoughts about OpenSim and the 3D Metaverse. C# coding in OpenSim. Summary (ed.): what is essentially required, as a quick and simple fix, is to introduce an option that restricts the use of C# scripts to owners, region managers or specified UUIDs only. This is already in place for os* functions, as well as for MRMs (although the latter are in a sense obsolete because they are unlikely to see any further development). 2) Mini Region Modules. MRM] Enabled = true OwnerOnly = true.
