The life and times of a Whistler newbie. The Rainbow Lake Trail. WordPress and my future in blogging. September 3, 2009. After much deliberation, internet sleuthing, and some web advice from my internet savvy cousin, I have finally settled on wordpress.com to satisfy my blogging needs. Doesn’t “wordpress” sound so much more intellectually arousing than “blogspot”? Leave a Reply Cancel reply. Enter your comment here. Fill in your details below or click an icon to log in:. The life and times of a Whistler newbie. Laquo; The Gods of mountain biking…they do exist. And they live in Whistler. Hot springs and a hike. October 4, 2009. So this last friday we made our way down an even longer forest service road to the Sloquet Hot Springs. On this particular excursion Avery and I learned many important lessons, such as the following:. The next day we drove out to Duffy Lakes provincial park and hiked up to the Upper Joffre lake. Here are the pictures. Leave a Reply Cancel reply.

The life and times of a Whistler newbie. Laquo; The Stawamus Chief. Hot springs and a hike. The Gods of mountain biking…they do exist. And they live in Whistler. September 26, 2009. Whistler is, for all intents and purposes, mountain bike mecca. When mountain bikers take the time to dismount from their two wheeled transports, which they rarely do even when the signs say they must, they pray to their mountain biking Gods while facing Whistler. And how do I know that their slopeside Gods exist? Estelle for...

The life and times of a Whistler newbie. Laquo; WordPress and my future in blogging. The Rainbow Lake Trail. September 9, 2009. Our first sunday here we decided to take on a local hike up to Rainbow lake. About 8 km later and 880 meters of elevation gain we were feelin’ the burn, but so worth the view. At one point, while we were struggling to ignore our legs burning in agony, we were passed by a trail runner. This wasn’t at the beginning either, this was about 5 km in. Up a hill! Ancient Cedars | Whistler Life...

The life and times of a Whistler newbie. Laquo; The Rainbow Lake Trail. September 18, 2009. At the end of August we did a short hike up to a grove of ancient cedars. On the way out towards the end of the loop through the grove, the family started singing hynms, or something very cheery sounding anyways. I guess the children will survive their encounter with the sacred tree climbing crazy lady. So here is a slideshow. Of the pictures from the hike. Leave a Reply Cancel reply. Enter your comment here.

Thanksgiving weekend | Whistler Life...

The life and times of a Whistler newbie. Laquo; Hot springs and a hike. October 17, 2009. Happy late Canadian thanksgiving! As some of you know, I am an American, hence the “Canadian” part. Don’t hold it against me. Americans are people too. Someday I will be a Canadian too, but not for at least another 12-15 months, because apparently that’s how long it is going to take for the government to decide whether or not I am a terrorist. Cross your fingers! Very high and very long! 8221; Apparently they end up...

The life and times of a Whistler newbie. Laquo; Ancient Cedars. The Gods of mountain biking…they do exist. And they live in Whistler. September 26, 2009. On wednesday Avery and I drove down to Squamish to do a well known local hike up the Stawamus Chief. Nice flat trail for about 400 meters (yes, I did know I would have to go up eventually), and then, voila! After that we continued on up to the first peak. This hike is quite popular so we weren’t alone at the top. But what a view! We hung out for a while...
