Another mommy blathering on about her beautiful boys. Sunday, July 6, 2014. We got back today from picking Nate up after two weeks of sleepaway camp. What an emotional mixed bag these two weeks were! And they walked off together without looking back. So fabulous. Then we didn't hear from him for a week and the camp posted some nice photos so we were pretty content that he was content. Then *the* letter arrived: I love you Mom. I miss you Mom. I cry for you every night Mom. I want to come home.

Are we allowed to go to the zoo these days? These days. Yes, son, you are allowed to go to the zoo these days. "I don't like any girl. Friends, I just like boy. Friends." It is hard to believe that seven years ago you were a teeny baby that I held incredulously in my arms. You are the one that turned me in to a mother, and that is the most amazing gift that anyone has ever given me. Oh, her eyes, her eyes, make the stars look like they're not shining. Her hair, her hair, falls perfectly without her trying. Cause you're amazing, just the way you are.

Super healthy, vegan except for honey, delicious, and they freeze beautifully. No fuss in the mornings - pull out of the freezer, 30 seconds each in the microwave (or not), serve plain or with almond milk. We eat them on the run, too. I base my recipe off of this one. 225 cups quick cook oats. 1/4 cup raisins or other small dried fruit. 1/4 cup chocolate chips.
