Bad With Directions: July 2007
http://badwithdirections.blogspot.com/2007_07_01_archive.html
Because you people aren't exposed to enough of my brain as it is. Monday, July 16, 2007. Carbon footprint, nitrogen finger smear, boron chalk body outline. Here are ten things I'm doing to save the environment this summer. And by "save," I mean "destroy less quickly.". Bringing own bags to Trader Joe's and Whole Foods. Okay, I've only done this once so far. But it felt good! Buying wind power credits from Native Energy. Mainly we're hoping to grow enough mint to power a summer's worth of mojitos. Trying ...
Bad With Directions: September 2007
http://badwithdirections.blogspot.com/2007_09_01_archive.html
Because you people aren't exposed to enough of my brain as it is. Sunday, September 09, 2007. There is so much tedious and annoying stuff you need to do in order to write a good screenplay. I think when most people think about it, they think about sitting down at a computer and somehow cranking out 100 pages of dialogue and cuts and fades and people opening doors. But this is L.A., where people are more informed about the ins and outs of movie-related endeavors. So when most of them. Making up interestin...

Because you people aren't exposed to enough of my brain as it is. Monday, July 02, 2007. I'm going to just go ahead and write something without any meta-commentary about how long it's been since I last blogged, so bear with me, okay? Let's go through some of them, shall we? The Screenwriter's Problem Solver. What screenwriting problems did I need to solve, exactly? I suppose "not having written anything yet" could be considered a problem, but offhand it strikes me as a relatively solvable one. This one's...
Bad With Directions: October 2006
http://badwithdirections.blogspot.com/2006_10_01_archive.html
Because you people aren't exposed to enough of my brain as it is. Tuesday, October 17, 2006. Ferreting out the details. I've been out of college for six years now, but it's really good to know that the whole kids vs. institution battle of "you, like, totally. Have to let us do whatever we want because otherwise you're compromising our well-being and that is SO not cool" is still alive and well. More patience with all that. By the way, ferret girl goes to Our Lady of the Lake University. I wonder if ferre...
Bad With Directions: We won!
http://badwithdirections.blogspot.com/2008/01/we-won.html
Because you people aren't exposed to enough of my brain as it is. Monday, January 14, 2008. Hello, adoring millions. I don't know how you've managed to maintain any semblance of meaning in your wretched lives during my extended absence from the blogosphere (do they still say "blogosphere"? Is there a newer term, like "blogopolis" or "webule" or "Heidi Montag"? But I thought it would be nice if I dropped in to throw you all a few bread crumbs. Because I am just the greatest that way. In fact, I think that...

Poking The Bear: January 2008
http://pokingthebear.blogspot.com/2008_01_01_archive.html
Thursday, January 31, 2008. Don't Play That Song. I love music, but I’m a truly terrible singer. Think Murphy Brown pilot. I can’t even sing ironically and have it sound somewhat decent. Not for lack of trying, though. I’ve attempted many a night of drunk karaoke-ing (in private Koreatown rooms, mind you) and the results were pretty horrific by any standard. My most recent and probably last attempt at semi-public humiliation was belting out Faith No More’s Epic whilst playing Rock Band (!
Pop Whore: April 2005

Biting the hand of Hollywood since 2005. Sunday, April 10, 2005. The revolution will not be blogavised. To give you an idea of how this all started, let's go back to the year 1968, when the smash musical Hair. Stormed onto Broadway and taught millions of Americans to just go ahead and let the sunshine in. Then, ten years after that, Eti and Nick were born, and another quarter century after that. Posted by Nick @ 12:29 AM. Contact the Pop Whores. Bad With Directions (Nick's other blog).
Pop Whore: May 2005
http://popwhoreblog.blogspot.com/2005_05_01_archive.html
Biting the hand of Hollywood since 2005. Wednesday, May 25, 2005. Some weeks, it staple-gunned you to your seat. Other weeks, it was people talking about their feelings. But somehow it always worked, either way. The finale is tonight and I'm pretty excited to see what gi-normous "WTF? Moment J.J. Abrams pulls out for the ending. Can a show this gimmicky last more than one year? And as Sutherland the Younger walked off into the L.A. sunrise with his Black Rain. Killing Melissa George at the end of last se...
sparkler's notes: Flickers

Tuesday, November 01, 2005. This past Saturday I took a basic knife skills class. Not the one that is taught in dark corners of Los Angeles on how to defend yourself in a street fight. This class was to educate me on the best ways to chop my food for cooking and presentation. Veggies are the only unlucky victims. Posted by the sparkler : 9:17 PM. So when are you going to drunk dial Veronica Mars to invite her over to watch poker and chop vegetables? That's kind of hot. Can I come too? Los Angeles, CA.
sparkler's notes: December 2005
http://thesparkler.blogspot.com/2005_12_01_archive.html
Friday, December 23, 2005. Christmas Trees and Football. Two things that December is full of. The month kicked off with both of these in one weekend, the USC v. UCLA game on Saturday and tree trimming on Sunday. My relationship is successful based on the fact that M and I understand what each of these mean to the other. I watched The Station Agent. Speaking of short stories come to life, I read Brokeback Mountain by Annie Proulx. (Thanks Julia. Check it out, they post new secrets every Sunday. The bo...
Gross Things I Find: July 2005
http://grossthingsifind.blogspot.com/2005_07_01_archive.html
Gross Things I Find. Sunday, July 03, 2005. While I was brushing my teeth tonight, I was pleasantly surprised. My toothbrush contained a girl hair on it. Unfortunately, it was in my mouth at the time of the discovery. This was remedied by a gag reflex and the careful extraction of the girl hair specimen. No harm done. I hope that I threw out the girl hair. Today's words of wisdom:. If you are going to have missing limbs or teeth, please don't flaunt them at me. Posted by Robert @ 11:54 PM.

Girl on Girl Cooking: Pumpkin Bread Pudding
http://girlongirlcooking.blogspot.com/2006/10/pumpkin-bread-pudding.html
Girl on Girl Cooking. Friday, October 13, 2006. Insert random excuse why neither of us has posted in so long). It’s fall in Southern California, and while the temperature isn’t all that cold, fall foods beckon. Especially my favorite squash, pumpkin. The dear husband, also a pumpkin lover, and bread pudding lover, volunteered me to make a pumpkin bread pudding for Nick’s. Raging fall party. I settled on a recipe from epicurious, but being who I am I didn’t follow the recipe. Pumpkin bread pudding video h...

Girl on Girl Cooking. Tuesday, November 29, 2005. Turkey Soup/Turkey Potpie and the Turkey Crack Whore. This was my first year to host Thanksgiving. This was the first time I cooked a turkey. Not just any turkey, but a twenty-one pound organically fed, no antibiotics given, free-range Whole Foods turkey, kind of Thanksgiving. We have never started small in my family. Here’s how I made my turkey soup. I can only assume it is basic because it seemed pretty simple and tasty to me. Links to this post. Musta ...

Monday, October 24, 2005. Not at the young, tall, muscular, dark haired, chiseled face, first responder wearing the navy blue uniform; that I was anxiously anticipating. An old, short, slightly overweight balding man climbed down off the truck. I mean don’t you need to submit your headshots to get into the fire academy? What happened with this one? Did he not age well? Posted by the sparkler : 9:03 PM. Some of these sites even have recipes from the firehouse.not that I looked or anything. Los Angeles, CA.
Poking The Bear: October 2005

Monday, October 24, 2005. In Touch At Target. I’m not sure how or why, but on Saturday I found myself shopping at Target with Reena and Nick. Okay, that’s a lie. I know how and why, but I figured it would sound a lot cooler if I pretended that going to Target on a Saturday with my friends was an anomaly. Which, really, it is, because we had some time to kill before a movie, but still. Someday I’ll need them, sure! Posted by Eti at 8:05 AM. Thursday, October 20, 2005. Pine Sol and Coffee. Lemon yogurt fla...

Because you people aren't exposed to enough of my brain as it is. Friday, May 07, 2010. Remember when I used to blog on this blog? I've been killing time reading some of my posts from 5 years ago. Here are some things that stick out to me. 1 Man, when I was single, I was single. Not in the "freewheeling ladies' man" sense, either.). 2 I used to drink STARBUCKS? 4 I mean, who even blogs anymore when they can tweet? 5 And how long will it be before Twitter is replaced by a 1-character nanoblogging system?

Friday, June 15, 2012. A Farewell to Maps. I kind of dropped the ball on this, my bad. It's been a while since I got back to Houston and I am finally getting around to putting one last post on here, ya know, for closure. Ha, see what I did there? Thanks for keeping up with me this year! Clara / Xiao Mai / Clarence / C-Rex. Saturday, March 31, 2012. We have arrived in our final country! One week in Cambodia and then I'll be on my way back to the US for a weekend visit with the parents in New York and then...
