Radishes. I was going to write about radishes. Not today, though. I was also going to build shelves in the hall closet. The coat closet probably, properly but, we never use it for coats. We could use a place for games, though. And circuitry kits. And crafts and toys, and odds and ends, and so: re-purposing. Project. Shelves. I bought boards, mid-April. I brought them in, Monday. I so didnt do it. . And so, instead, I was going to see her the next weekend. That was two weeks ago. Havent seen her, still.

編み物を中心にシアトルでの手作りライフについて綴っています。アメリカの毛糸や編み物本、シアトル周辺の毛糸屋さんについても書いてます。 Tuesday, June 28, 2011. 編み物が好きな人にはいろいろな理由があるのだろうけれど、私にとっては、なんといっても単純な道具、棒と糸だけで広がる無限の可能性に魅せられます。 全然知らなかったこの世界。今のミシンはすごいことになってました。すべてコンピューター化されてて、糸だって針に自動で通ってしまうし、複雑な刺繍だってボタン一つで好きなところに出来ちゃう。ＣＤＲＯＭ付きだとか、カメラ付きミシンなんてのもあって、その進化にはちょっとびっくり。数年先はどうなっちゃうのかしら？ 最近図書館で、「Knitting America」というとてもいい資料本を見つけて読んでいたのだけど、その中に載っているどんなに古い絵画や写真を見ても、いつの時代も変わらずやっぱり棒と糸だけで編んでる人たちが描かれてました。 実は私、手刺繍も結構好き。ローテクなものに惹かれるし、自分のペースにも合ってるのかもしれない。 Sunday, June 26, 2011. でも鶏がらスープと牛...
