Thursday, June 14, 2012. Sigh why cant i work here? Click to enlarge picture, i think). The bay of Taranto. the sea in the bay right next to the harbour is obviously not the cleanest, but drive a little further south and you will find the most spectacular beaches. We took a stroll along the road that runs along the sea. Had a granita. its like an icy slush-puppie, but look at the straw! They have cut the end of a normal straw so that its a spoon and a straw! They were quite self conscious. This beach is ...

ROAMING AROUND: San Francesco of Assisi
http://romantiquities.blogspot.com/2014/02/san-francesco-of-assisi.html
Wednesday, February 19, 2014. San Francesco of Assisi. Please please please can we not go into another church! This small town of Assisi is jam packed with churches and religious tokens popping out of all the shops. Pretty pot plants. one wonders how one waters them. The basilica of San Francesco. Lots of olive trees growing in every spare space. View from the castle on the top of the hill. the only thing not maintained that well, maybe because it has nothing to do with religion. Its a nice hike up there.

So one sunday afternoon we took a trip out to visit some of Francesco's friends who live in Terni (1.5 hrs from rome). i was convinced we were headed towards a chocolate festival which turned out to be a chocolate lecture on the MOST interesting stuff, well not really, it was rather lengthy and boring and there was very little chocolate to taste but it was an adventure. Sunday, May 20, 2012. The wedding of Nina and Francesco. What a lucky guy he is! So i arrived late, but just in time for the end of the service! The church was beautiful, Santa Francesca Romana, a very old church in the very centre of rome. I didnt miss much. or understand much. The madonna. can you spot the child? What a spectacular veil, made by Nina herself, the queen of lace. Now i know why they took so long to come outside. Instead of soft rose petals. Italians throw rice! A very happy couple. We ha...
