Where else can you get such a great baking lessons if not from your mother? Not only was she a teacher at school, but she had taught me many things at our home as well. Being a good student definitely paid off. Today I have the love for baking as my mom has had for years. I use her recipes, techniques and baking tips almost every day. 8220;Bake” 2 – Blueberry and white chocolate cheesecake. Apologies for the delays between posts; it’s been hideously hot here and when the temperature hits 40 plus, it is NOT the right time to have the oven on. However, in spite of the heat, people keep having birthdays – rather inconsiderate of them, really. As a result, cakes must be produced and a cheesecake was requested. Have I said enough? So, that looks slightly amazing. You ask. It is indeed the beginnings of the caramel. Look, now it's done! Hmmm I make need to make two batches of brownies next time. Carrot Cake with fresh blueberries! One 10inch tube pan or two 8 inch layer pans. Preheat oven to 350 degrees. 1 cup white sugar. 1 cup brown sugar. 2/3 cup melted butter. 2 cups unbleached white or whole wheat flour. 2 teaspoons freshly grated nutmeg. 1 cup chopped walnuts (we omitted this). 3 cups grated carrots. Let cake cook, and remove from pan. Sift a little powdered sugar over it or crown it with Cream Cheese Icing (#109). 109 Cream Cheese Frosting. 8 oz fresh cream cheese at room temperature.
