Tuesday, September 16, 2014. Bead board installation is complete.primer and first coat of paint in place. The walls still need their paint - will choose final color soon. All is coming together nicely. Ignore the pink tint.not sure why it is there.the bead board will be white. Water fixtures are due to be installed in two days. Can't wait. Sunday, September 14, 2014. One of the many iguanas that roam Miami, this fellow is an unwelcome invasive species that is probably descended from a stowaway in a box of fruit from the Caribbean:. Here, Andrew is next to a silk floss tree (Chorisia speciosa). We managed not to feed or get eaten by any cocodrilos. And headed back to Glenn's for homemade eggplant parmigiana, my favorite Italian dish!

The chronicle of years spent renovating a 1940s Florida Cracker home. Saturday, January 31, 2009. North Florida Crossword Puzzle Tournament, and we have lights! Today, Andrew, our friend Steve, and I competed in our second North Florida Crossword Puzzle Tournament. Our team, The Wordsmiths, were Runners Up, finishing just 5 points. Behind the winners. We hope to come back next year and take the Team Division title! The Tournament proceeds go to a local non-profit organization. Tuesday, January 27, 2009.

Wednesday, July 23, 2014. The tub was delivered here on Monday. That's probably going to be all the action this week. Next week should see things picking up again. Saturday, July 19, 2014. Were At It Again. The bathroom has been almost completely gutted. As you can see in the image above, we're going to reuse the sink and toilet - they're in great shape - no reason to replace. That's all we've got for now. Wednesday, July 16, 2014. They're Back.Mr. Contractor and Doug, that is. The trailer is back!

Monday, June 18, 2012. Better Late, Than Never. Thought it was time to finally get the remodel blog finished before we start another phase. Yep, you read that correct. Next phase is the guest bathroom and other smaller miscellaneous tasks. But let's stick to the task at hand - the master bath. We love our new bathroom. Thursday, November 29, 2012. Found an old picture of the house circa 1948:. Now, here is the same view from today:. Changed a little bit, hasn't it? Thursday, November 1, 2012. The question this morning was, "Would they be back today to work on the yard? The answer this evening is, "Yessir, they done come back! When I came home at lunch I found bales of straw in the drive. More of our old plants had been removed and/or trimmed away. New plantings had taken place. Let's check it out!

Monday, October 29, 2012. There was very little progress on the yard today. Our grass (what little there is going to be) is scheduled to arrive on Wednesday and more work will not begin until Thursday. Please check back then for more updates. Friday, October 26, 2012. All pavers have been set in place - front and back! Just the finishing touches need to be done and the walkways are good to go. Sydney is checking out the driveway. We chose to use rock here to save a few dollars. Stay tuned for more pics.

It's been awhile since my last blog entry, but Andrew and I will be married in just a few weeks, on May 16th, and finding time to blog hasn't been easy. I now realize just how much is involved in planning even a relatively simple wedding. My dress was, surprisingly, one of the easiest decisions of all. Not bad for someone who's not much of a girly-girl, and who laughed out loud while trying on and tripping ...
