Saturday, February 13, 2010. In honor of the start of the Olympics, I made a double batch of Lindall Heyer's granola. The recipe is one from my mom's collection, but it originated in a 1970's newspaper. Lindall Heyer was a member of the US Olympic team in the 70s, and this is her recipe. It is very good. The only changes I made have been noted. 1/4 c canola oil (original called for 1/2 c veg oil, just seemed like too much for today's cooking). 1 T vanilla extract. 1 c sunflower seeds, raw unsalted.

Friday, July 9, 2010. We were invited to visit our good friends and their 3 children down in South Florida for the 4th. The trip down went pretty quickly. When we got there Avery was shy for about 30 seconds and then I heard her best "ice breaker" comment to date; "Hey, look at my boo-boo". From that moment on, they were inseparable. Sunday, March 7, 2010. What we've been up to. . . Not sure when we will actually get the one I want - I think they are in production for 6 weeks. I am hoping to get it for my birthday in May. :-). Work has been REAL busy lately. We have the most employees we have ever had. We may even have to add more people in accounting soon. I guess busy is good, but being short staffed and the stresses that go with that are not so good. We got another fish (I have lost count on which one this is). So far so good.

Wednesday, June 30, 2010. June - SC Beach Trip. Bobby and Scott on the water. The girlies - Avery, Reid and Davis. Any guesses who this might be? Here's a shot of the sun rising. The girls had a blast on the beach. Avery kept running in and out of the water with the tube. The girls really wanted to go to to the Pavillion down the street, so one afternoon we took them down to do one "ride". Davis did lots of flips. Walking back to the house from the truck with their treats. Sometime in the near future.

Tuesday, December 1, 2009. Gator / FSU Gameday. We had planned to watch the game at home, but wanted to get into the rivalry mood by walking up to campus to partake in some pre-game festivities. We walked around campus and had lunch before heading over to the Gator Walk Saturday. Now do the same thing to BAMA, please! Heading to Steamers for lunch (it's a Scott thing). Avery HAD to have eye blacks. She loved them. Avery wearing James' Gator hat looking for Tebow while being held by Youssouf.

Saturday, August 14, 2010. Another lake trip with friends. Beautiful clouds at the end of the day. Lauren, Avery and Rebecca tubing. Avery enjoyed this tubing trip. Damien, Michelle and Youssouf. Damien. He's here from France visiting Jay, Michelle and all the ladies.:-). We joined a pool this summer. Avery's been taking swim lessons. She is getting better and definately more comfortable in the water. We plan to continue to take lessons until it gets cold. Avery by the pond. Mr Mantis in the garden.

Thursday, May 20, 2010. I would have to say that whenever we went over volcanoes, it was my favorite geology topic. I find volcanoes intriguing since they are land that has fire inside them pretty much, its just so cool! I think that the air mass part was my favorite because I did know that air affected our weather but i would have never guessed there were actually different types of air which is so weird! I think I got a 93, wink wink, and obviously what I did worked so I think I should do it everytime.
