Monday, March 2, 2009. Low Fat Banana Bread. This recipe for low fat banana bread by chrisbarr. 1/2 cup unsweetened applesauce (or 1/2 cup shortening if you like). 1 well beaten egg. 3 bananas (mashed - over-ripe are best). 3 Tbsp. milk. 1 Tsp Baking Soda. 1 Tsp Baking Powder. 1/2 cup chocolate chips (optional). Preheat over to 350º F. Cream sugar and applesauce (or shortening). Add egg and bananas. Add all other ingredients. Bake in greased loaf pan for 55 minutes (45 if you use shortening).

It's probably not a dish for you if you don't like eating livers of any kind. Chicken and duck livers are really inexpensive and this makes an impressive starter for a western sit down dinner.
