Tidbits from out of town. Sunday, September 28, 2008. This is our new kitten, Bandit. We named him after the Barber family cat of yesteryear who was also grey, and because we thought it would be funny to have Smokey and the Bandit as pets. We transported him from Ronald and Mandy's in the glove compartment. He seemed to be happy there. This photo is over year old now, taken at the dog run in Lincoln probably in June of 2007. . . As was this photo. And I just had to include Fred because I love him.

Tidbits from out of town. Tuesday, March 21, 2006. March 21 was a snow day for omaha public schools. actually it was the second of two consecutive snow days, but this one was nicer because most of the day was a thaw from the previous day and night, and so it was nice enough for me to don my snowboots and go on a long walk with my dog. I didn't see him again by the time i got back to my car. the snow was melting and almost gone by that time and i like to think that perhaps he got stuck and had to walk.

So, if we build a fence at the USA-Mexico border to keep out illegal immigrants, um. who will build the fence? Might be working themselves out of a job. Career and Christmas lists. My last post was from Montana and I there is a pretty good story of why I was there and how I got to where I am now. Maybe I'll be able to tell it next weekend when I have more time. 15-20 hrs/week at a semi-stable part-time job with a real employer, preferably with benefits. I really enjoy consulting.
