My hike northbound on the Pacific Crest Trail. Wednesday, 24 September 2014. White Pass, WA (Mile 2303) to Baring, WA (Mile 2476). Skywalker and I got up and got going and found a campsite exactly 31 miles away. One goal I have had since being on trail was to hike a 50km day and the terrain looked like we could do it. Nice view down the valley. We got a great view of Rainier from the trail. Saw this sign and sped up. Skywalker, Happy TuTu (the trail angel), Lapis, and me taking a nap. Had a later morning...

Got my resupply at the General Store, sent a food package ahead, had one last giant burger and headed back to trail. A short 1.5 mile roadwalk back to trail. Camped up on a ridge and watched the sun set. Hilarious sign on a bit of a road walk on trail. Sierra Bluffs (I think). Crossed the 2,000km mark today, seems like the milage is adding up fast. My hike northbound on the Pacific Crest Trail. Monday, 15 September 2014. Cascade Locks to Packwood. After a good 820 mile yellow blaze (skipping trail via vehicle) skipping the rest of Northern California and all of Oregen due to fire closures on trail and me wanting to meet up with others. I ended up in Cascade Locks, just on the South shore of the mighty Columbia River. Upstream of the Columbia, pattlewheel boat taking people for trips around the area. Bridge of the Gods at dusk. Made it across alive.

Monday, 30 March 2015. The morning started off nice but only a few minutes into the day the rain started falling. Though a light rain, still makes for a cold morning on the flat track around the lake. Misty lakeside trail during the morning. Roys Peak and Mt. Alpha as we pass by on the way to Motatapu Alpine Track. Climbing up along the Fern Burn creek we are back in the mountains. Still climbing up and away from the Fern Burn. Fern Burn Hut looking quite small as we keep climbing up to Jack Halls Saddle.

Tuesday, 26 May 2015. Post-Trail Travels Pt. II. It only took 3 rides to make it from Riverton to Arthurs Pass. Stocking up on 10 days of food to spend in Arthurs Pass. Hiked up to Bealy Spur to get some good views. Matthias crossing the Bealy River on our way up to the Edwards-Howden track. Walking up the Edwards River valley. Looking out from the Tarn Col. Hanging out at Edwards Hut. Luxury river crossing over the Taipo. Little hot spring near the Julia hut, felt good to soak the feet in some warm water.

Saturday, 25 April 2015. Scotts Gap to Bluff. Heading out from the Hostel we had a 22km beach walk with a river crossing half way. Weather was decent and Florian, Marilyne, Marlies, and I managed to head out of the hostel at a decent hour as Kelsie and Jeramiah wanted to cook some pancakes and would meet us down the beach. Tide was heading out which made for okay walking in the sand along Oreti Beach. You could see the very end of the beach from the beginning, but seems so far away. Made it to Bluff!
