Eine recht aufwendige Sache war das Armband "Mariposa" von Cynthia Newcomer Daniel, aber es hat auch viel Spaß zu fädeln gemacht. Wenn man mal raus hat, wie es geht, ist nur noch eine Menge Fleißarbeit, die sich aber meiner Meinung nach gelohnt hat. The "Mariposa"-bracelet by Cynthia Newcomer Daniel was a real piece of work, but it also was fun to make. Once you get the hang of how the steps work, all that is left is beading, beading, beading. Ich hab die tollen Teilchen mal ganz klassisch verwendet, einfach verhäkelt im Spiralmuster (1 O-Beads, 2 11/0, 6 Perlen in der Runde). Shrug aus blauen, türkisen und grünen Wollmeise-Pure-Resten stricken, mußte aber feststellen, daß mir die Vorräte dazu nicht ausreichen. Also habe ich noch fuchsia dazu gemischt und Granny Squares gehäkelt (das erste Mal in meinem Leben). 81 Fleckerln ein Strang Wollmeise Pure Minze zum Zusammenhäkeln = Shrug. Zusammengehäkelt habe ich nach der fantastischen Anleitung von Sara Palacios, gefunden. Mein Profil vollständig anzeigen.

Yesterday, I attended the funeral of Basia Sandlow, the 46 year-old sister of my good friend, Bunia Newman. Basia was diagnosed with glioblastoma multiforme, the most aggressive type of primary brain tumor in humans, in December 2007. Median survival for this form of cancer is 14 months. Basia survived for three years. She lived longer than 98% of those diagnosed with this illness. One Bead At A Time.
