Marathon Exploits: Bingham
http://beermatt.blogspot.com/2015/05/bingham.html
How I ran sub 2:30 on a regime of low mileage, beer and darts. Monday, May 04, 2015. The kms clocked by on a very familiar route to me and before long I was crossing the line in 16:11 for a comfortable victory. Good fun and well organised and tea and biscuits after. Lovely. And a brilliant win for Bingham in the snooker. Thoroughly deserved. Really enjoyed watching that. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Lactate Threshold Testing and VO2 Max Testing Galway. Marathon Exploits: Killimordaly 5km
http://beermatt.blogspot.com/2015/04/killimordaly-5k.html
How I ran sub 2:30 on a regime of low mileage, beer and darts. Sunday, April 12, 2015. A short warm-up before the race. The course was a lollipop - a nice downhill start, then a loop, then an uphill finish. I took it out hard and ran a quick first km in 3 flat and then each subsequent km seemed to get tougher and tougher. I had a decent lead and even though I was running hard, there was nothing in the legs. Expected really given my lead in. All up 107.7kms for the week. More of that please. Getting back ...

How I ran sub 2:30 on a regime of low mileage, beer and darts. Monday, April 06, 2015. I wanted to ramp up the training this week but it was going to be tricky as it was school holidays so I was on child minding duties. That meant more treadmill running. Marathon Exploits: Weather poor
http://beermatt.blogspot.com/2015/05/weather-poor.html
How I ran sub 2:30 on a regime of low mileage, beer and darts. Wednesday, May 06, 2015. A reluctant treadmill run. A 2km warm-up, then 10km in 32:49 (3:17's), then 2km warm-down. All up 14.0kms. I seem to have lost a bit of pace in my threshold zone since the end of last year (both on the treadmill and on the road). Hopefully I'll get it back again soon. Snooker in the evening. Hit a few decent breaks - the highest being 36 where I managed to miss a straight black off the spot.same old same old. Picture ...

October 2, 2013. More of the same! This was one of the those good training sessions. The plan was for a 8km (5m) tempo, I’m currently doing some fitness training with the Loughrea rugby team, so I decided id head down early taking a longer route down and then finishing out the run with laps of the pitch. It worked out very well and I nailed all of my target km paces. 1km – 4.22. 2km – 4.01. 3km – 4.00. 4km – 4.00. 5km – 4.09. 6km – 4.00. 7km – 3.50. 8km – 3.53. 9km – 3.49! 1km – 4.15. 2km – 4.02. Thursday, April 30, 2015. Just Jamie and I this morning at 6.10am for 1, 2, 3, 4, 1 min efforts off a 1 min jog recovery. Did a 4km warm up, into it then a 5km warm down. Throat a bit better but legs a bit lethargic so another easy day tomorrow will definitely be needed. 13km all up. Jamie going well. Could be a sub34 chance. Wednesday, April 29, 2015. A rest day for me today plus worried about a sore throat. So my girls are both through to District while the boys can concentrate on their XBox skills.

September 21, 2013. Dusting off the cobwebs! I was forced to take a week off training, after Craughwell, nothing to do with injury or illness thankfully, but because of personal reasons. But I had far from a restful week so I came back to training tired, and it took a few days to get back into the swing of things, also the week involved indulging in a few alcoholic beverages which didn’t help! 10km easy, easing myself back into things! 13km in 56mins 34secs – 4.21mins/km. 2011 Tokyo Marathon. Leaders at 6K. Stuck out my arm, pushed the iPhone camera button. Complete luck. October 26, 2014. Managed an Easy 10K. Week of Oct. 20 26. So I jogged a bit on Thursday, 6k on Friday, a bit on Saturday and then did 10k on today at the Namban Rengo 10K, Half and barbecue. Did it in 50:03, so 5:00 per k, which is better than a jog but certainly not a quick pace. It was a bit sore, but didn't get worse, so that was good. At any rate I was actively recovering today, I hope. Anyway, rest...

All in a lather
All in a lather. Wednesday, 18 March 2015. WellI dooon't really Knoooow. Who would ever have thought that two blokes would turn up claiming to be Les Dennis' son? I know his Mavis Riley impression was good. So good, in fact, it secured him a role in the programme it was inspired by and has been the lynchpin of his acting style. And his breaking into Gail's house - then wooing her with a telly was a classy move.but, whodathunk it? Only(wait for it.) Gavin wasn't in! But his skint flatmate was! I was very ...
