So I jump ship in Hong Kong and make my way over to Tibet, and I get on as a looper at a course over in the Himalayas. A looper, you know, a caddy, a looper, a jock. So, I tell them I'm a pro jock, and who do you think they give me? Being blissfully technologically outdated, brief moments of happiness. Butter and woe, cacoethes scribendi. Not being at home.

May 13th, 2005 @ 12:02 pm. Pointed me here. :o) And I have this WONDERFUL soup recipe from an olllld vegetarian book I thought I'd share. I made it last night and it smells and tastes FABULOUS! 2 cups dried lentils. 8 cups of vegetable broth (what I used) -or- 8 cups water. 1 medium potato, chopped. 1 carrot, chopped. 1 stalk celery, chopped. 1/2 medium sized red onion, chopped. 2 Tbs olive oil. 1 1/2-2 tsp. salt. Crockpot: same thing but cook on LOW for 4-6 hours or on HIGH for 8-10 hours.

Jul 5th, 2005 @ 11:17 am. I had some red kidney beans and Parmesan "cheese" to use up, and ended up with this very tasty (and easy) soup. Don't know yet if it's better on the second day, but most soups are, in my experience. For non-vegans, you can replace the vegetable broth with chicken and the Parmesan with the regular kind, I'm sure. 149; 1 cup carrots, thinly sliced. 149; 1/2 cup celery, sliced. 149; 1/2 cup onion, chopped. 149; 1 small zucchini, sliced. 149; 2 cups water.

I've already unfollowed about four people on Facebook and one on Twitter for suggesting her death is something to be celebrated. I'll keep doing that. *shrugs*. I feel very strongly indeed that:. A) death is not something to be celebrated, ever [sometimes it's a relief]. B) there's no good reason to be insulting a newly dead person. The insults can wait for a couple of months. C) how we treat and talk about the dead is important.

And absolutely loved it, so I figured I would share. 1 cup chopped leeks. 2 cloves garlic, minced. 2 cups broccoli flowerets. 1 cup chopped mushrooms. 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese. 1 Tbsp. vegetable broth. 2 eggs (actually about 1 1/2). 10 oz soft silken tofu. 1 Tbsp. yellow mustard. 1 tsp dried basil. 1/2 tsp. nutmeg. 1/4 tsp. salt. 1/8 tsp. black pepper. 2 Tbsp. Parmesan cheese.
