I found some silver organdy curtains and some garden wire. Along with my mini sewing machine, I made wings. I only have my tiny craft sewing machine as we didn't want to move my bigger, heavier one. Thursday, August 29, 2013. I want to blog. I just need to make the concerted effort to blog. So, I am going to do it. For the next six weeks, our pool looked more like a skate park than a swimming pool. While waiting for our pool to be repaired, our cardboard tube septic lines decided to give up. Two days and two hundred dollars later, Jay and my dad managed to get them all replaced. Lots of dirt, lots of digging and lots of horrible smells accompanied this project. The boys have started school now.

Andouille sausage and butternut squash bake. I’m never exact with measurements, these are just estimates. I just wing it. 4 links andouille sausage or other spicy sausage, cut in 1 inch pieces. 2 cups cubed butternut squash [see directions below for easy softening and slicing]. 1 16 oz bag fresh baby carrots. 1 cup red potatoes cubed. Frac12; sweet yellow onion cubed. Handful fresh stemmed rosemary or tablespoon dried. 2-3 Tbs olive oil. Frac14; cup dry red wine like pinot noir. Frac14; cup maple syrup.
