The only way I can explain it is that her narrative voice comes across as a friend telling me the story, yet with a subtle sarcasm underneath, as if she doesn't believe what she's telling me. The Afterthought
So, a friend of mine (who, oddly enough, I met through Justin), talked me into driving out to Gruetli-Laager tonight for church. They've had a revival going on all week, and he's been begging me to go. So, tonight, I finally bit the bullet and said alright. Why not? I have nothing ELSE to do on what should be the day before my wedding. Might as well go to church, right? At least I might find a little comfort THERE, since I'm not finding it anywhere else. After awhile you learn the subtle difference.
