a little piece of me: September 2012
http://bekahwalker.blogspot.com/2012_09_01_archive.html
A little piece of me. Saturday, September 01, 2012. Being away from family and friends encouraged me to draw nearer to God. As I opened my Bible this morning, in an effort to learn more about who God is and who He desires me to be. I fell upon a bookmark that one of my high school teachers made and gave to each of his senior students around the end of the school year. It has my name, Rebekah. Its meaning, "devoted one". And a verse, Psalm 73:28,. Yet I am always with you; you hold me by my right hand.

http://bekahwalker.blogspot.com/2013_04_01_archive.html
A little piece of me. Saturday, April 20, 2013. I love saturday mornings. Waking up to the sun shining through my window. Sipping coffee and reading in my cozy bed. Breakfast outside on the patio. And sometimes going back to bed for a mid-morning nap. It's the one day of the week that I don't feel guilty for being lazy with no set agenda,. Just resting after a long week of work and craziness. Women are their own worst beauty critics," Dove says. "Only 4% of women. How do we define beauty. The "hidden per...

A little piece of me. Tuesday, January 31, 2012. What I made this weekend. My classmate and good friend Erica, decided to throw a little concert this past weekend to benefit Airshine Music. She asked a few of us to volunteer to make baked goodies for a raffle, and of course I was excited to make a special treat. It had been awhile since I made my friend, Cristy's, favorite coconut cake.maybe not since a bridal shower? Anyway, it is the most simple, delicious treat ever.if you like coconut that is! Lucky ...
a little piece of me: July 2012
http://bekahwalker.blogspot.com/2012_07_01_archive.html
A little piece of me. Thursday, July 26, 2012. When I was thinking about the title of this post.I thought of the shirt they sell at turtle reef (SeaWorld) that says, "I was green before it was cool" with a picture of a green sea turtle.too cute. Too bad it's only in kid sizes :). I have been wanting to post about my growing vegetables, but hadn't taken the time yet to take some pictures to show off my growing tomato, pepper (maybe) and zucchini plants! All those veggies and fruits made 1 cup of juice.

A little piece of me. Thursday, January 01, 2015. The sailing pictures to the left are from our one-year dating anniversary.what a perfect way to celebrate). If you're visiting from out of town, we hope you'll have time to spend at the beach during the wedding weekend! Some of our faves are South Mission, Ocean Beach and of course a walk/jog along Sunset Cliffs! I definitely went back and watched the video later to see if I could catch his words and despite my denial, sure enough, he had said "I'll still...

a walker's perspective: Cheese for dessert
http://susabc.blogspot.com/2013/06/cheese-for-dessert.html
Life is a journey. enjoy it along the way. Sunday, June 23, 2013. When training American families to prepare for the arrival of their Basque students for the summer, I asked the question about desserts. "What do you think is a traditional dessert in the Basque culture? They were surprised to hear it was cheese. More specifically, cheese pressed from sheep milk. Is a pressed cheese. Made from unpasteurized sheep milk. Sheep in the Basque Country. It has a somewhat smokey flavor, but is usually un-smoked.

http://tenaciousinsights.blogspot.com/2015/03/give-me-jesus.html
An open discussion on life, love, and faith in "The Quarter Life Crisis" from a fellow quarter lifer in Orange County. Friday, March 6, 2015. Life sure is one great adventure. You never know where you're headed next. And for much of my life I go through the motions, I put my nose to the grindstone and I plow through it. I've been called "super woman", I've been asked "how do you do it all? In desensitivity. give me Jesus. In a world of hurry. give me Jesus. In doubt and despair. give me Jesus. Friday, Ma...

Tenacious Insights: November 2014
http://tenaciousinsights.blogspot.com/2014_11_01_archive.html
An open discussion on life, love, and faith in "The Quarter Life Crisis" from a fellow quarter lifer in Orange County. Wednesday, November 5, 2014. There's somethin' about country music. The CMA's are currently being shown at the local G House and we're loving every minute of it. I just got up and danced in the living room to Keith Urban's "Somewhere in my car". No really, I did! And I LOVED it! Seriously, that song gets one's foot tapping and makes me want to learn all things line dancing and the 2 step.

January 7, 2014. Little Buddy: 10 months. Your 10 month photo montage. If I'm honest, you just turned one. So I really should be posting about that and instead I'm playing catch up on the months prior. And if I'm honest, the photos for this month were just taken last week. Oops - mom fail. Friday, March 30, 2012. San Diego: Zoo and Hodad's. The zoo was amazing, and I am so glad we took the time to go. After our bus tour, we wandered around some of the exhibits and quickly realized this zoo was huge! From here we moved over to the panda exhibit since this is something we can't see in Seattle. It was quite busy and we had to wait in a short line in order to walk on a small walkway in front of the panda. We saw a couple pandas and then it was over. I am glad we went through the ex...After the...

Friday, December 2, 2011. 18 Months (We are running a bit late around here). Owen is now 32 3/4 inches tall (70th percentile), and 23 lbs 12 oz. (25th percentile). Owen is a climbing, jumping, running machine! He loves to do agility drills with his daddy and Grandpa Walker. He also did his first somersault over Thanksgiving break unassisted. I think it was a bit of a one time fluke, but he was so proud of himself when he finally accomplished it! He has been trying to do it on his own for a few weeks now.

Sunday, May 6, 2012. Baby on the Way: 1st and 2nd Trimester. I was looking back at old blog posts and realized pretty quickly that I have not blogged much about this pregnancy! When we found out we were pregnant again, we were thrilled! Fortunately, I am feeling pretty well now, other than the fact that I feel like the size of a whale. The best part of this stage is that our little boy has become incredibly active! Here is our sweet boy at 21 weeks. Here is our boy at 27.5 weeks. A little piece of me.
The Walker Clan: 18 Months

Monday, March 17, 2014. He has all his teeth but the last four molars. It has been nice that they came in when he is so young because we have gone a good long stretch without teething pain. He still seems to love to put things in his mouth though! We have been working pretty diligently to teach him that toys and other objects don't go in his mouth. In the past month, I have finally started to see some improvement. In addition to being an over-zealous climber, this boy is fearless! Beckett loves his cousi...

Tuesday, April 24, 2012. San Diego: Our last day. We had one objective for our last day in San Diego: keep Owen awake until we boarded the plane at 3:00 pm! After our crazy flight down, we were hoping to get him to sleep for the entire flight home. His usual nap starts around 2:00 and while we were in San Diego he often fell asleep by 12:30. We knew it would be tough keeping him awake, but we were determined. This is what we returned home to! San Diego: La Jolla and Tommy's. I tried Target first, because...

Saturday, June 12, 2010. Four more days till I go home.I guess it's home. This place feels more like home in someways. Life in Thailand is not. Complicated, it's slower, it's simpler, it's real. Life here is real in the sense that people see the reality of suffering or pain. Back home. pain is a lot easier to cover up or masked because we have more.We have cell phones, ipods, T.V's, cars, our very own. As I prepare to go back to the States, I am feeling even more confident in where God is leading me. ...

Be a missionary now. Sunday, November 10, 2013. It has literally been 8 months since I last posted on my blog. I kind of missed it. But also kind of not. (I'll explain that in a bit). Here's a quick rundown of what I've been up to recently (if you don't follow me on Twitter. If you do, you can probably skip this bit). I ran two 5Ks. I got in a car crash. I learned to drive a manual. I developed an unhealthy obsession with a certain. I became Laurels president. I became 'addicted' to Pinterest. I was so g...

Sausage and Peppers and Potatoes….oh my! February 26, 2013. I will admit to anyone listening that I am not into the whole “organic” or “gluten free” scene at all!
