I read an article. Yesterday about a Thai restaurant in Austin that has closed its doors because of protests and death threats made against the owner, following his seriously crass and insensitive Facebook comment about the Sandy Hook shootings. It originally caught my attention simply because I liked that restaurant. But I was surprised that the content left me wrestling. In case you missed it, his comments included:. Like I said, seriously crass and insensitive, especially written hours after the event.

A little bit on healthcare. I received this email forward from a friend, and completely agree with this man's point. Pictured here is a young physician by the name of Dr. Starner Jones. His short two-paragraph letter to the White House accurately puts the blame on a "Culture Crisis" instead of a "Health Care Crisis". It's worth a quick read:. Dear Mr. President:. While glancing over her patient chart, I happened to notice that her payer status was listed as "Medicaid"! STARNER JONES, MD. I had to add thi...

I have a lot of free time these days. The classic idling phase of job-hunting has left me questioning my daily purpose, role, and worth. I have come to re-realize that although I verbally refute that I find these things in my career, I actually do to a large extent. Such a disheartening and yet breakthrough revelation! I decided (through my husband’s gentle urging) to revisit some Biblical references on the matter to clear the slate on how I view work, which I have sadly equated with my role in life.

As, I'm sure he enjoyed every moment of it and will remember it for the rest of his life! At least momma enjoyed it! Logan showing Grandmomma his new trick. Grandmomma wondering where Logan gets his flexibility from! It's not from his mom and dad, that's for sure! I love my Grandmomma! Logan and ...

Wednesday, March 31, 2010. Spring is almost here. Yes, I said ALMOST. I feel as though every time we have a great weather day (above 70 degrees, sunny, blue skies) the next day fails to compare. However, the past 2 days have been 75. Degrees and above, which has exceeded my expectations and made me SOOO happy! Logan and I have started our "Mommy Get Back in Shape" plan this week! So far it has been quite successful! No worries I feel it today, but just have to keep going! Our happy little man! Then, we c...

The Newell Post: Food: revised.

http://newellpost.blogspot.com/2009/06/food-revised.html

Musings from the life of the newest newells. Wednesday, June 3, 2009. Over the past several days I've had some revelations about food. Not revelations, really. I'm sure people have been trying to tell me this my whole life. Extrapolate that methodology over a life time and we're not looking too good. I fully understand. Plus, I'm a character of convenience. Seriously, how convenient are semi-sweet chocolate morsels? Secondly, I had an "epiphery" (as Michael Scott. In the meantime you will find me briskly...

Musings from the life of the newest newells. Sunday, January 31, 2010. Our Pride and Joy. Our lil punkin "calabasa" is growing up so fast! We were matched with Estiven when he was only 4 years old, and he's going to be SEVEN in March! We decided it would probably be quite meaningful if we wrote him this month en espanol. Hopefully he's starting to read and write at this age, so he might get to actually read our letter! Spanx, mi jimela! Fue un placer ayudarte, mi gemela! I hope that Estiven LOVES his let...

Musings from the life of the newest newells. Thursday, April 30, 2009. In the words of the great Jeff Bowles, "Yeah. not so much.". Have you ever heard of the two "recipes" for fried chicken? Original and Extra Crispy? My favorite quote from the night of our KFC experiment, from the guy who grew up eating "carrot dogs" instead of hot dogs: "I think you (Jennifer) just have an appetite for southern food. You really crave fried things, don't you? He knows me so well. Monday, April 27, 2009. Plastic cups, e...

Musings from the life of the newest newells. Tuesday, May 19, 2009. A little catching up to do. The Saturday Evening Post. Was a newspaper founded in 1728 by Benjamin Franklin. By 1855 the Saturday Evening Post had an impressive circulation of 90,000 copies per year.". Put the two play-on-words together and what do you get? Phew, I'm glad I got that off my chest. Now, onto real news:. Jake's South Fayetteville Project in ca-hoots with Urban Redevelopment Group and his development company Swiftwater, LLC.

Hoar Family Happenings

Monday, March 21, 2011. The Glory of the Lord. I have always loved huge crusade evangelism. It is so exciting and fun to be a part of something like that. The excitement and anticipation I feel when I see hundreds and even thousands of people gathered together to see God work is overwhelming. When I was first saved and living in Oxford, MS I would drive past the Ole Miss football stadium and imagine it filled with people who had come to worship Jesus! Posted by Hoar family happenings. Ben and Susie Thomas. Our life and ministry in Kigali, Rwanda. Friday, November 10, 2017. Yes, it’s been over a year since I’ve written. Lots of good reasons for that. But today’s a family favorite - the Parade of Nations at KICS. Yes, the best way I can know God is through his Holy Word and indwelling Holy Spirit. But, I’m missing a chance to know Him if I look past, over, or down on any of the images that He made of Himself. But it’s in the squish that Christ is most revealed, because He not only...
