Loves cheerios, which he's getting better at picking up with his thumb and forefinger. Also likes toast, crackers, yoghurt (which he's not supposed to have for another month or so), and most fruit if it is pureed. He'll also eat pretty much anything else that comes his way. Christmas was spent in the Lake District with my parents sister, and of course Lizzie and Toby. After a very poor end to the year (for various reasons, but if bad things happen in threes, the week leading up to Christmas covered all very three well! Hawswater- where eagles once roamed. A waxwing was also briefly seen along Sandy Wall, which was very nice.

I managed to see it hunting. After coming home and reading up about them I now know that s hort-eared owls are usually seen hunting during the day. They are medium size birds with speckled brown bodies, pale under-wings and yellow eyes. Here are my shots:. I was also pleased to photograph this red kite. Jays in my garden.
