long hot summer nights: mini-invasion
http://matintheworld.blogspot.com/2009/01/mini-invasion.html
Friday, January 16, 2009. I saw my first couple of rhino beetles. Troddling clumsily down the road today whilst on my travels. I remember when I was here last time there was an outbreak of them in the Summer of near-biblical proportions - you had to be careful where you stepped they were literally everywhere! Wonder if it'll happen again this year. Anyway I'll try and take a half-decent pic of the miniature-monsters to post here . Want to see the Rhino Beatle Trail! January 21, 2009 at 7:42 PM.

long hot summer nights: long exposures from new years eve
http://matintheworld.blogspot.com/2009/01/long-exposures-from-new-years-eve.html
Friday, January 2, 2009. Long exposures from new years eve. This is the view from the cincho (its like a miniature house at the back of the garden) looking back towards Alejandros mums house, where we spent new year. Everyone waiting with baited breath for the food to arrive! We managed to get up on the roof at midnight for the fireworks which turned out to be like a 360 degree show, things exploding all over the place which was ace! Pretty hard to get a decent photo though. That tree foto is ace!

long hot summer nights: November 2008
http://matintheworld.blogspot.com/2008_11_01_archive.html
Thursday, November 27, 2008. After the wedding everyone bussed it back home via Montevideo where I had the fortune of getting off and not getting back on the coach, as I stopped off for a wee visit to Montevideo to see my mate Adam from Boston who's supposedly teaching English in the area. First port of call was the fantastic beach at the southern end of town. I think it was called the playa de los pocitos. They had some pretty good murals in places on the wall that cordons the beach from the street.

long hot summer nights: December 2008
http://matintheworld.blogspot.com/2008_12_01_archive.html
Thursday, December 25, 2008. I'd forgotten that people open their presents at midnight on xmas eve here, after a slap-up dinner which this year we ate round at Sonias house. L-R: Tony, Alejandro, Graciela, Sonia, Santiago, Anamaria, Adri / me (depending on which version of the photo you're looking at). Mimi enjoyed playing with the wrapping paper after the opening frenzy, if only it was so easy to please everyone . So all thats left to say is Merry Xmas everybody and thanks for all the crazy presents!

long hot summer nights: February 2009
http://matintheworld.blogspot.com/2009_02_01_archive.html
Wednesday, February 18, 2009. Japanese gardens, palermo. These are actually from last November when I got back to the japanese gardens in Palermo, serenely beautiful little oasis in the middle of the parks area of the city. I could have spent all day there. I found this cool effect on my camera which isolates the colour of your choice and takes the rest of the photo in black and white, the results were quite interesting with the striking red bridges, blue sky and green foliage to choose from.

long hot summer nights: October 2008

Friday, October 10, 2008. Thursday, October 9, 2008. The main reception part. In Constitucion train station, which is just off to the right in this photo, is exquisite but I'm too paranoid to take a photo there in case I get my camera nicked cause its always full to the brims with people! So instead I just took a quick stealth shot of the sunlight beaming through the glass panels in the platform area. Just like back in 2005. I think this is the train that goes to Mar Del Plata. I think. I suppose its bec...

Ruth quickly got out her new camera to get evidence of the rascals at play. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). 141 Music - The Music of Wayne Sivinda.
