My Interpretation of The Bible. Thursday, August 24, 2006. Genesis, Chapter 12. The Call of Abram. The Lord then promises Abram the land of the Caanites, meaning that the Caanites would loose their land because their ancestor, Noah, had cursed them (Genesis 12:6-7). I would also like to point out again that Noah was an ancestor that was viewed as righteous in Chapter 6 and then became bitter in Chapter 9 and acted out on his son, cursing his grandson who had done nothing.
