I played a no-limit hold-‘em tourney online last night, a freeroll (free entry) for 2000 participants. The top 100 would receive entry into a tournament Sunday afternoon, from which the one winner would receive entry into a live WPT event in. Plus hotel, spending money, etc. During the course of the tournament, I tried a new style of playing. Sure, why the hell not?

And yet, I still had fun. Let me break this down for you. Foxwoods’ BlackJack tournaments are run with 25 hands per round. There is a minimum of $100 per round, maximum of $2500. All bets are in increments of $100, except insurance. Everyone is given $5000 in chips to start. In the first 14 hands, I lost none.

I fried a turkey, made corn on the cob, and mashed potatoes with garlic, rosemary and thyme. Plus, a spice cake with homemade pear ice cream. One guy showed up bearing a watermelon that was yellow instead of pink. It tastes the same as pink, and makes just as much of a wet mess. Dude, that meal sounds terrific.
