Today we rode a cool 20 miles and I got to see the Atlantic Ocean. The ride was beautiful and scenic. Providence, Rhode Island has really amazing historic houses and the people here are so nice. Bike Strong, Build Well. Wednesday, June 3, 2009. It's not about the bike: My journey back to California. I'm currently on a bus headed to Providence, Rhode Island to a quaint little church called St. Martin's to meet everyone for orientation. I was in New York for a week visiting friends, partying it up before the trip. We'll be in Providence till Saturday when we dip our back wheels into the Atlantic Ocean and start cycling toward. Bike Strong, Build Well. Friday, June 5, 2009. The first build day and the rain. Today was the first build day we had with habitat for humanity and we helped build the foundation for the deck. We rode our bikes to the build sight and I fell on the ride there. I fell on the same knee for the fourth time and reopened the scab. I wasn't meant to have pretty legs. It was really fun to work with power tools and get dirty. I'm also learning a few things about building a structurally sound house.
