Cycling the Boot of Italy. Reflections On Our Trip. Back home again, and we’ve taken a couple of days to reset our internal clocks and reflect on the experience. We were gone for 38 days, were on the road with our bikes for 31, and rode 22 days, for a total of 867 miles (39 miles per day average). And the roadside fruit and vegetable stands are to die for.
