Creating a Rose Parade Float!
https://www.billcotter.com/roseparade/index.htm
Dinner's On. FIRE! Or How our float ended up in the Rose Parade. On January 1, 2005 I had the thrill of seeing a float I helped design make its way down Colorado Boulevard during the Rose Parade. This happy event was the result of thousands of hours of work by a devoted band of volunteers who had worked all year on the project. This web site is a look back at the events of the year and the results of all that work. Here's the initial artwork by Stacia for the float. The 2001 parade theme had been Fab...
Sprint Sucks
https://www.billcotter.com/sprintsucks/index.htm
Their service is so bad on so many levels it defies belief. Need an example? Well, something changed for sure around Christmas. I called Sprint and they said there was a cell tower issue near us that was impacting voice and Internet service, but it should be fixed soon. I have come to realize that Sprint's version of soon differs from how most of us would interpret it. Another call to Sprint, another promise of a repair soon. I never heard from Gare again. I decided it was time to escalate the matter so ...

The Wonderful World of Disney Television. In 1997 Disney published my book The Wonderful World of Disney Television, which is described at. Http:/ www.billcotter.com/tvbook. Although the book came in at 625 pages, it still wasn’t enough to contain all of the information I had found on the various shows. In fact, the original manuscript came in at 1,100 pages, and since Disney had been expecting a 300 page book, it was necessary to get out the editing pencil and slim the book down. http://thedisneydigest.blogspot.com/2008/11/walt-disney-treasures-whats-missing.html
Tuesday, 11 November 2008. Walt Disney Treasures - What's Missing? Part 1 - Theatrical Animation). Well the Disney Treasures are the crown of Disney's release schedule, each year digging into the vaults. But as much as they are adored, their life hasn't been plain sailing, accidental cuts and omissions, some titles being unrestored. And of course being cancelled and then returning from the grave. Casey Bats Again' has been absent from the Treasures line. Nine from 'Casey Bats Again' (1952). Two completel...

The Disney Digest: Animation Backgrounds
http://thedisneydigest.blogspot.com/2008/11/animation-backgrounds.html
Monday, 10 November 2008. A blog I have followed for ages is Rob Richards' wonderful 'Animation Backgrounds'. Carefully recreating the original backgrounds by compiling screenshots, the full backgrounds are pieced together to create some startling images that just don't shine while watching the films themselves. One favourite of mine from his site is this wonderful background from the Bumble Boogie' section of 'Melody Time'. Any way I strongly suggest you take a look. It's site you can get lost in! New o...
The Disney Digest: Disney's Roadside Romeo a hit! (In India)
http://thedisneydigest.blogspot.com/2008/11/disneys-roadside-romeo-hit-in-india.html
Wednesday, 12 November 2008. Disney's Roadside Romeo a hit! Disney and Yash Raj film's co-production 'Roadside Romeo' is officially a smash in India, with Ft.com reporting that it has taken more in 4 days than Pixar's 'The Incredibles' did in its entire run. Could this mean a sequel in the works? Or yet more animated features specifically made for the Indian or other International markets? This after all follows Disney's Chinese release of 'The Magic Guord'. Roadside Romeo' or 'Bolt'? Video of the Week.
The Disney Digest: New Trailer for Pixar's 'Up'
http://thedisneydigest.blogspot.com/2008/11/new-trailer-for-pixars-up.html
Saturday, 8 November 2008. New Trailer for Pixar's 'Up'. I have to say Pixar's 'Up' really excites. If I'm honest I was slightly underwhelmed by 'Wall-E' and 'Ratatouille' so I'm hoping that 'Up' will provide me with that Pixar goosepimply feeling again. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). http://thedisneydigest.blogspot.com/2008/11/walt-disney-treasures-whats-missing_16.html
Sunday, 16 November 2008. Walt Disney Treasures - What's Missing? Part 2 - TV Animation). The titlecard that signaled one of Jiminy Cricket's educational cartoons. Well before I start, I realise I'm stepping into a potential minefield here for three reasons. A) There's such a colossal amount which potentially could be included. B) Such a large amount incorporates re-used material from theatrical shorts, and rather like my suggestion about re-using elements of the package features in my last post. Such as...

Sunday, 23 November 2008. Walt Disney Treasures - What's Missing? Part 3 - TV serials). Firsty, apologies for lack of pitures in this installment, taking a 3rd delve into the vaults to see what gems still lurk unreleased in the vaults, this week we turn our head to the live action TV output. Given there is such a vast amount, it seems only sensible to seperate them up. So we begin by looking at the live action serials. Daniel Boone", another 4 episode serial could again fit nicely. Dear Family and Friends,. I’m running for a cure! YES, I AM DOING IT AGAIN! As many of you know in July of 2010, my life changed forever. I was diagnosed with Non-Hodgkin Lymphoma. I could not have done it without them. I believe that many of us have had family and friends stricken with various types of cancers. I am ...
