As I was studying for a message recently, I ran across a quote by A.W. Tozer from his book The Root of Righteousness. I had so many requests for it, I decided to put it on my blog:. A real Christian is an odd number anyway. He feels supreme love for one whom. He has never seen; talks familiarly every day to someone he cannot see; expects to go.

One step at a time. Here today, gone tomorrow. View my complete profile. Sunday, March 1, 2009. Here today, gone tomorrow. With the emphasis on beauty we find in our culture, you'd think it was something we'd keep forever. We spend untold billions of dollars on tucks and "tox," lotions and potions, all designed to make ourselves look far younger and better than we really are. You'd think that sooner or later we'd all simply stand back and ask the question, "what's the point? So why don't we? Seeing these...

One step at a time. The Lord is on our side. View my complete profile. Monday, May 11, 2009. The Lord is on our side. The last few weeks have been particularly challenging. As I have pondered the "why" of my emotions, I am certain it has to do with the journey I've been on myself with prostate cancer, and the thoughts and feelings that has triggered. If you've "been there, done that," I'm certain you can relate. So why have the last couple of weeks been particularly heavy for me?

One step at a time. View my complete profile. Thursday, April 30, 2009. Today I had the privilege of doing the memorial service for Paul Johnstone, a wonderful man who was the second principal of our school, Cornerstone. Paul came to us as a teacher, and left as a Principal to serve in numerous schools around the world. He left this world much sooner than any of us were ready for (62 years of age). What a lot of life he packed into those 62 years! Are you current, caught up? Monday, April 13, 2009. There...

One step at a time. View my complete profile. Tuesday, April 6, 2010. One of the things that really struck me happened right before I came out to speak for the last service. Just before going onto the stage, I overheard one of the younger choir members thanking the various orchestra people for their outstanding contribution. What a joy to know that kind of encouragement was being expressed with nobody having to make it happen. Proud? Subscribe to: Posts (Atom).

The Life and Times of Deema: Day 29: A Picture of Me As a Child

http://deemalong.blogspot.com/2011/06/day-29-picture-of-me-as-child.html

The Life and Times of Deema. My adventures in life, love, and fairy tales. Jun 6, 2011. Day 29: A Picture of Me As a Child. Probably one of my family's favorites. Definitely one of mine. This was taken at Oaks Park and I'm pretty sure I was less than two (cuz if I remember correctly, I finally started getting hair that made me look like a girl at two). Check me out on my tiny roller skates! My mom still has them too! Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Day 2: First love. Day 3: Your parents. Day 26: How ...

The Life and Times of Deema. My adventures in life, love, and fairy tales. Feb 28, 2011. Jeff and I went to get our marriage license today! It's strange how exciting such little (and somewhat mundane) things can end upu being. I took off from work early because they are only open Monday-Friday 8-5, which is of course my work schedule too. Jeff came to my office and got me around 2:30. How can he be so calm? The Life and Times of Deema. My adventures in life, love, and fairy tales. Jun 5, 2011. Day 28: My Favorite Musician and Why. I'm not really sure I have a favorite musician. I have several favorite artists for various reasons, but to narrow it down to one all-time favorite seems impossible to me. I love Kenny G and the way he plays the sax. His is the music romantic evenings are made from. I have a special fondness for Henry Mancini because without him, the song I consider the most beautiful and romantic...

The Life and Times of Deema. My adventures in life, love, and fairy tales. Jun 7, 2011. Day 30: What I've Learned About Me. Wow, 30 days already? And I actually made it. I'm sort of proud of myself. So, what have I learned about myself in the past 30 days? I learned that I actually can live my life AND keep my blog somewhat up-to-date. I learned that I really, really miss writing (I had suspected as much, but now I realize how much). And on the non-blog related issues? Jun 6, 2011. My mom still has them ...

The Life and Times of Deema. My adventures in life, love, and fairy tales. Dec 29, 2009. She's such a great friend. And as if to prove that point, a few hours later I got an email from another friend saying that Clakamas was getting some snow. Not fair! As I was replying to her, I looked out my window and noticed that the sky had changed from a cool blue to a steel grey. Cool! And wait. . . do I see what I think I see? Is that. . . SNOW? Putting gas in the car. Waiting for just about anything. Being even remotely involved in any discussion that touches politics. Admitting to anyone when I'm drowning financially. The Life and Times of Deema. My adventures in life, love, and fairy tales. Mar 22, 2010. I was sitting at my desk thinking about lunch. I do that a lot between the hours of 8:00 am and 12:30 pm. Then after lunch I start thinking about dinner. Sometimes those thoughts are along the lines of wondering where I should go to eat, or what I should do during my free hour. Sometimes it's simply "why isn't it lunchtime yet? What a surprise to see Derrick! Derrick: You don't have Swiss cheese by any chance, do you?

The Life and Times of Deema. My adventures in life, love, and fairy tales. May 31, 2011. Day 23: The Last Thing To Make Me Cry. Yesterday: Memorial Day 2011. Jeff has a tradition to watch the movie Saving Private Ryan. On Memorial Day. It helps him remember those who serve our country and all they have to give up for us to have the freedom we take for granted. At the end of the movie, of course I was in tears. So many lives, so many people, so many lost loved ones. Jeff left the room and I sat and let th...

The Life and Times of Deema. My adventures in life, love, and fairy tales. Jun 20, 2010. Jeff took me to meet his parents today! After brunch, we went our separate ways for a couple of hours. It gave us a chance to go home, change out of our church clothes, and each grab a small catnap. Sunday catnaps are very important. When we got to the house, Jeff took me through a quick refresher of the members of his family (mother, father, brother, sister-in-law, and nieces) and we headed in. Well, that wasn't wha...
