The Digiscoper: Not like last year!

http://birddigiscoper.blogspot.com/2015/05/not-like-last-year.html

Saturday, May 09, 2015. Not like last year! To learn something new, take the path that you took yesterday.". I go to nature to be soothed and healed, and to have my senses put in order.". 8213; John Burroughs. Pheasant Branch Creek Corridor. Having Northern Parulas, Blackburnian, and Cape May Warblers foraging on the ground isn't exactly an uplifting experience knowing that the birds are struggling to find food, but they sure are amazing to look at when so close. http://birddigiscoper.blogspot.com/2014/05/where-are-all-warblers.html

Friday, May 02, 2014. Where are all the warblers? The storm system responsible for a week of northwest winds, overcast skies, and rainy weather is finally moving east of Wisconsin. Consequently, there wasn't an influx of warblers that generally occurs during the last week of April. Number of warbler species at Pheasant Branch Conservancy for April:. Warbler species last month! The Digiscoper: Quiet

http://birddigiscoper.blogspot.com/2015/04/quiet.html

Monday, April 27, 2015. I wasn't even going to carry my camera. It was pretty quiet in the morning and it carried over into the evening. I saw Jim O'Brien coming from the opposite direction and we agreed . it was quiet. Naturally, I will. All images © 2015 Mike McDowell. Posted by Mike McDowell. April 28, 2015 at 7:13 PM. Tuesday, May 12, 2015. A Secret No More. What makes a river so restful to people is that it doesn't have any doubt―it is sure to get where it is going, and it doesn't want to go anywhere else.". 8213; Hal Boyle. The songbirds that visit our little 1.5 miles of “tropical” stream during a few weeks in May are from real. The month of May just doesn't last long enough! Pheasant Branch, Dane, US-WI. DSC07934 | Birdy Words & Whims

https://birdyword.wordpress.com/2011/07/09/from-nest-to-fledge/dsc07934

Birdy Words and Whims. July 9, 2011 / stephanie. From Nest to Fledge. This nest had two cowbird nestlings and one cardinal nestling. A lone cardinal egg sits on the edge of the nest, unlikely to hatch at this point since the other nestlings are already so far into their development. Cowbirds are “brood parasites” since they are unable to raise their own young and thus lay eggs in other birds’ nests, oftentimes, but not always to the detriment of the host species. This pair of Robins shown in the pictures successfully raised their brood by nesting on this basketball hoop. http://jerryjourdan2.blogspot.com/2007/05/digiscoping-start-to-print-adapters-and.html

Wednesday, March 5, 2008. Digiscoping: Adapters and Extras. Probably the most difficult aspect of digiscoping is 'connecting' the camera to spotting scope. Precise alignment of camera lens to eyepiece is critical for vignette-free, uniform illumination, and sharp focus. Many options are available and much has been discussed. Check out. http://jerryjourdan2.blogspot.com/2007/05/digiscoping-start-to-print-taking-that.html

Tuesday, March 4, 2008. Digiscoping: Taking that picture. Many digiscopers emphasize the benefits and need for a cable release to take quality images. I don't have the setup to support a cable release, thus I have to resort to hand-held shooting, or self-timer shooting. I don't feel like I'm missing out at all, since I'm not convinced that a cable release system is necessary. Reason? And our bodies can make great vibration-damping tools if used properly. So my recommendations are as follows:. Self-explan...

Saturday, March 8, 2008. Digiscoping: Cameras - Features. Today's consumer is inundated with tons of new cameras that hit the market every year. Digiscoping got its start from the use of a compact digital camera (or Point &Shoot) with a 3X optical zoom. Now, mega-zoom cameras up to 24X are available, and most folks think that bigger is better. Not so! Is there an ideal digiscoping camera available? The early Coolpix cameras had a fixed outer lens and internal lens elements that zoomed in and out. Tho...
