Sunday, June 6, 2010. NW Tanzania - Bukoba via Biharamulo to Rwanda. The road soon reverted to bush road again as I approached Biharamulo Game Reserve and the thought of a potential very long driving day ahead I tried not to stop to often. Not too dissimilar from the road I'd taken north at the start of my trip through Kamisi Game Reserve. The few sightings were good though with a couple of Common Kestrel. Dive-bombing an Augur Buzzard. And a Lizard Buzzard. Posted by Marcell Claassen. The migrant - M.

Friday, December 4, 2009. Cairo and Dahab (Sinai). Birding in Cairo was pretty much only "drive-by" birding or what could be seen from the hotel but a fair amount of species was seen. Due to circumstances in Dahab I missed out on a desert safari so missed a load of the planned specials there. Staying on the island of Zagalek in Cairo, the most common birds were Hooded Crows, House Sparrows. With the occasional Laughing Dove. Around. One morning there were Yellow-vented Bulbuls. Visited the shoreline in f...

Bukoba Steve's Tanzania birding blog. Birding in and around Bukoba, Tanzania and other locations in East Africa. Tuesday, June 7, 2011. As out time here comes to an end I'm conscious of the rapidly disappearing opportunities I have for birding and have to think carefully where I put in the effort. Minziro Forest, Katoke Teacher Training College and the acacia woodland along the Karagwe road are the main targets. Several visits to each is the goal. Yet to be identified Lark. Make me an offer, Nikon!

Keep in mind these prices are from June to October 2014 and only for the bus companies and taxis I travelled with; where I got various quotes I’ll give them as well. Very important to remember is that on and around public holidays all the bus ticket prices go up, as much as $2.00 per ticket on the budget companies. 280 for USD ( $. S/ 50 with taxi. (1- 1. Bukoba Steve's Tanzania birding blog. Birding in and around Bukoba, Tanzania and other locations in East Africa. Tuesday, June 28, 2011. Care for a Swan? On our last drive through Bukoba yesterday morning I was able to snap a photo of these Swans which have recently migrated to town. Unfortunately I only managed to capture a small selection of the 50-60 present. Jenny was very keen to bring one home but we already had about 30 kg of excess luggage so I had to put my foot down. Bukoba Steve's Tanzania birding blog. Birding in and around Bukoba, Tanzania and other locations in East Africa. Saturday, May 21, 2011. Back in Bukoba - Rain, rain go away. We've been back over a week now and the rain has been amazing. Yesterday and today have been the wettest days since we've been here. We've had heavier downpours but nothing as sustained as this current stuff. This is potentially a great spot and I really need the rain to stop so I can get in to explore the area properly. NW Tanzania - Rusumo Falls to Bukoba. Posted by Marcell Claassen. A stretch of road for 15miles with Copper Sunbird. After dropping the escort off, north of Kamisi Game Reserve we'd just driven through, there were some more patches and amazing scenery. This is a "good" section of road by the way! Stopping occasionally, the Tz list got underway with Sooty Chat. Extremely common I would eventually realise), Green-winged Pytilia. Were everywhere with a few female Bateleurs. M&Ms Mom
I'm a birding Mom of two adorable kids Big M and Little m. Here are my stories. Tuesday, August 27, 2013. When we had Melissa for just over 24 hours we wrote our first letter to her birth mom. We wrote one every week for the first several months of her life. We did the same after Mia, although I’m sorry to say we were not quite as diligent much to my chagrin. At first I thought nothing of these letters. But as the years passed I realized what a precious gift they truly are. While Beth’s brother was...

BIRDING BEYOND the PALE
BIRDING BEYOND the PALE. Tales from a recycled birder. Friday, 7 February 2014. Much of the following is a repeat of what has already been covered in Birds of Allen Road. And Birding the South Burnett. I did have ambitious plans for the new year; a new format, a different way of keeping any remaining public audience interested in the Biding Beyond the Pale. It hasn’t come about so far. Having the time on your hands does not necessarily equate to more time for writing. Take January 2014 as a pointer.

Biff's Birding
Hi, I am a young 15 year old naturalist who specializes in birds. I travel to my favourite hotspots for birdwatching. St Just in southwest cornwall and the Exe estuary being my most exciting locations. I have recently started ringing and do it in Swindon normally, I am a trainee. I will be uploading what I've seen and where. Tuesday, 4 August 2015. Rodborough Common, Gloucestershire 1st August 2015. One surprising find was a female Emperor quartering the grassland just in front of us, a bit lost I expect!
