Wood Chips and Kitty Fur. Dedicated to the artist and volunteer in all of us. Monday, April 13, 2009. Kitten Season has arrived. It has been a little over three weeks since I began raising the first of my 2009 litter of bottle babies and am happy to write that my little c. Harges are doing very well. I received a litter of four and all four are thriving - one girl and three boys! Scooter, the smallest kitten was the first to open his eyes. Boneata says NO NOT THE HAIRDRYER! The Feather and the Flower: May 2010
http://featherflower.blogspot.com/2010_05_01_archive.html
The Feather and the Flower. I arise every morning torn between the desire to save the world and the desire to savor the world. It makes it hard to plan the day." - E. B. White. Sunday, May 9, 2010. Biggest Week in American Birding [Alternatives]. It's almost here, the biggest week in American birding! Yes, this afternoon I'll be heading east on I-86 to . . . what's that? Right, I'm not that geographically challenged. Anyway, I'll be heading east . . . what? I won't be blogging, possibly I'll throw a twee...

QUIET TIME: February 2009
http://fr84wrdr.blogspot.com/2009_02_01_archive.html
Proverbs 16:19 Better to be lowly in spirit and among the oppressed then to share plunder with the proud. Thursday, February 12, 2009. I started this year off by getting up on January first at 7 am to restart my annual list. With a zeal that exceeds all types of weather and lack of sleep I met with the local birders that keep annual lists for county birds seen in a year,. Yes, there are several people that do this. Its a great past time and you can start afresh each year. Links to this post. Howard Count...

Hummingbird that my wife spotted about two weeks ago in the back yard. Better late then never. The photo is from last year . i cannot seem to find the really nice pictures of this fellow and the truth be told, our visiting hummingbird is actually a female. Links to this post. QUIET TIME: Summertime
http://fr84wrdr.blogspot.com/2009/07/summertime.html
Proverbs 16:19 Better to be lowly in spirit and among the oppressed then to share plunder with the proud. Sunday, July 12, 2009. Bird Listing has slowed down dramatically. Since the end of May. After finishing up with 33 new birds for the year by May 31. June netted one new bird for the year, a Eastern Wood Pewee, can you guess what vocalization. In July so far I have only been able to add one bird but it was a great bird for me , a pair Dickcissels. Did you say Hangin with my peeps? Youre funny, yet I e...

Proverbs 16:19 Better to be lowly in spirit and among the oppressed then to share plunder with the proud. Monday, July 13, 2009. With hopes of finding a pair of previously spotted Dickcissels at the county landfill, small group of us headed out for what we hoped would be a relatively easy re-location of the Dickcissels and then we could scout out the rest of the area for any uncommon birds might just drop by the ever popular landfill. Proverbs 16:19 Better to be lowly in spirit and among the oppressed then to share plunder with the proud. Friday, May 8, 2009. Updating, in case someone reads this blog. A lot has been going on and I have seemingly been able to find something else to do rather then blog. Translation: I have been birding. More cold, rainy, windy days then I can count. But there is something stimulating about putting on layers of clothing, a wool hat, gloves and heading off to a woodlands area. With April came the spring mi...
