The Upper Texas Coast offers many types of habitat - marsh, bluestem grassland, tidal flats, and woodlands to name a few. During migration, you will see an impressively diverse set of bird species, because both circum-Gulf and trans-Gulf migrants stop over in this particular area of the coast to feed and rest. Watch the image gallery. Might see on our trips.

We bird several areas on the Upper Texas Coast, including wildlife refuges, birding sanctuaries, and favorite spots of mine along back roads and highways. All trips are customized to your preferences. Most birding is from an air conditioned vehicle, with some non-strenuous birding by foot.

Birding with Kenn and Kimberly

Thursday, September 15, 2016. Although Kenn and I were away from home and missed it, two more baby turtles hatched! And while our hearts might be a teensy bit sad to have missed it, we couldn't be happier that our dear friend Tiffanie got to share this experience with her daughter. In fact, after looking at the pictures and seeing the radiant, happy smile on Delaney's face as she released these tiny bundles of life, we wouldn't change the way these two baby turtles came into the world for anything. This ...
