Do I need to go to my doctor first before coming to physiotherapy? No, you don’t need a referral to come to physiotherapy. If ACC related you can fill out all the required forms with us. Is there a surcharge? As of November ’09 ACC is now only subsidizing 2/3 of your treatment cost. There is therefore a small surcharge ($22 for the initial assessment, $13 for follow up appointments). If your injury is the result of an accident, you can register your claim at our clinic. ACC will only pay part of the treatment costs. There may be a charge for materials, e.g. strapping, acupuncture needles. (If your application for treatment is declined by ACC, we will invoice you for the treatment on a private rate).
