Glimpses into our winter weekend adventure! All set for the day's adventures! Josh teaching Esmael to skate. And Esmael falls down hard on the ice. And again and again but refuses to give up. Sauvé Scholars Blog: January 2012

http://sauvescholarsblog.blogspot.com/2012_01_01_archive.html

Monday, January 30, 2012. Wintery Walks throught Montreal. This is an excerpt from my personal blog: throughthesepages.wordpress.com but I thought it was appropriate to the Sauvé Program. Enjoy. As the adrenaline ran out, I found myself more contemplative, tired and prone to stay in the warm and dryness of my home. Snow covered benches line the trails up the mountain. A beautiful sapling weighted down with snow and ice. On a sunny day people fill the slopes by Beaver Lake to slide around. The Mohawks of ...

http://sauvescholarsblog.blogspot.com/2012_07_01_archive.html

Tuesday, July 17, 2012. Reflections from the 2011-12 Sauve year. Last August, fourteen young people hailing from countries as different from Canada as the Palestinian Territories, Kenya and Paraguay, embarked on a journey to learn about leadership and how to contribute to effective responses to the major global challenges of our time. We did so by exchanging ideas with each other and educating ourselves at two world class. Noted that in his country, it is unheard of for anyone but the central bureau to i...

Thursday, April 18, 2013. Things I Will Miss. It's impossible to describe all of the magical memories that were made this year. As we wrap up our time here at Sauvé House, here are just a few memories I will take with me. Food - so much food. We've eaten together, cooked together, been out-spiced by Dechen together. Camping - our first trip of the year (remember the terrible thunderstorm? Preparing for winter, many for the first time. More food. And, a great Halloween party. Fun in the snow. Scholars liv...

Friday, April 19, 2013. Building the Best Gingerbread House. On December 8th and 9th, the Sauvé Scholars, embarked on a mission to build the best gingerbread house we could. Josh found blue prints of Maison Jeanne Sauvé and crafted a scaled replica of the house in sketch-up. We then printed scaled plans of the house and cut our gingerbread to match. The result: a beautiful, bright red gingerbread house with a chocolate bear to represent each Sauvé Scholar! Step 3: Ensure that the walls fit together.

Hold the front page: virtualisation isn't new apparently. I'm just posting a release emailed to me as I haven't found an online version of the release yet. I'm not sure that there are many articles that claim virtualisation was invented recently, particularly as IBM has been selling VM/370 for donkey's years (the clue's in the name), and I assume that the work John Walker is referring to here is the research that spawned VM. ISACA expert claims virtualisation dates back to 1960s. I have one question: why?

Raygun.Owin v0.1.17-beta Released. It’s been over a year now since v0.1.0 of Raygun.Owin. Was released. This version was pretty rough around the edges but it served its purpose for what I needed. I’ve been wanting to update this for awhile and so recently I pulled the code into another project I’m working on and started to rewrite it. This update attempts to bring Raygun.Owin more inline with the Raygun4Net. Continue reading →. This entry was posted in Announcements. And tagged asp.net. December 12, 2014.

Ranting about writing software. Thursday, May 21, 2015. McTest: A little http testing library I wrote for Go. Problem: This started out with someone asking me how to write a test in Go for http handler. Then I wanted to add some testing to my web services (JSON API specifically) and http handler wrappers (middleware). Goal: To have a simple library that removes the boilerplate code for validating the response body and response code that is magic free. httptest. Links to this post. Thursday, May 15, 2014.
