Laura Blair: Scenes from 'Coraline'

http://blog.laurablair.co.uk/2015/07/scenes-from-coraline.html

Friday, 31 July 2015. One of my all-time favourite books is Neil Gaiman's Coraline. Granted, it's a children's book - or it's supposed to be, though I had nightmares as an adult about button-eyed monsters - but it's a beautifully crafted, intriguing story. Even better, Dave McKean. Provided the illustration: angular, scratchy drawings which made my skin crawl with the thought of that hand. When the film came out in 2009, I was pleased to find that Henry Selick's stop motion adaptation.

Laura Blair: Grounded Coffee Company, Whitechapel

http://blog.laurablair.co.uk/2015/07/grounded-coffee-company-whitechapel.html

Grounded Coffee Company, Whitechapel. Tuesday, 21 July 2015. The interiors are beautifully done (if you like tiles, you'll like this), and a great touch is the fact the whole front opens up onto the street, perfect on the beautifully sunny day I visited. They even serve ice cream by the cone from a cart! I'll be back to try out the bircher muesli and the sticky chicken I caught cooling on the side as I left. FIND GROUNDED COFFEE AT:. 9 Whitechapel High Street, Whitechapel, London E1 1DU.

Laura Blair: Highgate Cemetery, London

http://blog.laurablair.co.uk/2015/07/highgate-cemetery-london.html

Highgate Cemetery, London. Sunday, 5 July 2015. A couple of weeks back I made my first visit to Highgate Cemetery. A day out some might characterise as a little morbid perhaps, but was actually thoroughly interesting. Highgate is resting place for the likes of writer Douglas Adams. Who has a remarkably modest gravestone - especially surrounded by giant Victorian tombs - covered in pens left by fans), painter Patrick Caulfield (whose headstone includes the word 'DEAD' cut out of it), author George Eliot.

Laura Blair: An abandoned farmhouse, East Iceland

http://blog.laurablair.co.uk/2015/07/an-abandoned-farmhouse-east-iceland.html

An abandoned farmhouse, East Iceland. Friday, 10 July 2015. Which is so uniform it looks almost man made. I wanted to grab some film of the view, and as we weren't in a hurry we had a little look inside the window, expecting the place to be stripped bare. However, we found the inside full of crockery and furniture, well used pots still on the stove and even a large locked chest! Personal posts and my work. Absolutely beautiful photos. Bet that house was a joy to explore. I bloody love iceland xx.

The100DayProject: Week Fifteen (THE FINALE). 99 – I’ve been trying to photograph the new tile patterns at Tottenham Court Road underground station for a while now, looking for the right angle, composition and lighting. Luckily I took this just in time for the end of the project and it actually turned out to be 7th most popular of the whole project. 100 – THE FINALE! 1005 – … so we took some other photos too, with some red cardboard triangles. And that was the end…. And that’s a wrap! The ‘top trian...

The online music news and review magazine, infamous for it's editor actually reviewing 'music' (and only giving it a 6.8) has just given Kanye West's new album, My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy. Kanye West's latest musical turd may be his best yet, but there is no way it's a 10/10. Even if it was, give it a 9.9 so that his already massively inflated ego be quelled. This Will ...

RIDICULOUSLY ELITIST AND OBSCURE MUSIC BLOG: About Me

http://ridiculouslyelitist.blogspot.com/p/about-me.html

RIDICULOUSLY ELITIST AND OBSCURE MUSIC BLOG. Why hello, I didn't see you there. I'm a student who currently lives in London, studying History at the delightfully left-wing Goldsmiths University. I love music, film, literature and food, which are all fairly standard things I suppose. In that regard I'm uninteresting. Sorry to disappoint. Oh and my name's Matt. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). RIDICULOUSLY ELITIST AND OBSCURE MUSIC BLOG. Thursday, 3 March 2011. An attempt to read Marx. A young Marx: pretty buff, in my estimation. So I've decided to try and read Marx's infamous Capital, in a naive effort to expand my knowledge and understanding of the world and how it came to be so (I'm a history student, so go figure). I have the second volume, which I've heard is the more important one, and my god, is it heavy going. A short sample, from the first page:. Tuesday, 1 March 2011. This blog is pr...

RIDICULOUSLY ELITIST AND OBSCURE MUSIC BLOG. Tuesday, 1 March 2011. 2011 marathon album review. So here begins an epic journey. I have a feeling I may regret this, but I'm going to try and review every album that comes out this year. That I listen to, of course. I would like to try and preserve some semblance of a life. If you have any suggestions for albums, please leave a comment. Oh, and the first album to be placed under my intense scrutiny (! Is Radiohead's 'The King of Limbs'.

Creixement personal, educació, criança i família. El joc en etapa infantil. Posted By Laura Duran.

Sunday, September 22, 2013. The {salisbury, maryland} family photos of Chris and Meghan. So here's the thing about photographing two-year-olds: it's HARD. They have decided opinions as to what would be better done with their time, and "smiling for pictures" isn't on that list. But you know what? That's ok. Because when you DO get moments of emotion? They're genuine. And it's a victory. Posted by Laura Dye. Thursday, August 29, 2013. The {quantico, maryland} anniversary session of kens and kev. Every sing...
