Bird and wildlife watching in Quebec and elsewhere. Just a birder eBooks. Who writes this stuff? Getting the right birding kit is essential, unfortunately it tends to be a matter of trial and error and, with birding kit not being cheap, can cost a few dollars until you reach a position of harmony. Bird and wildlife watching in Quebec and elsewhere. Just a birder eBooks. Who writes this stuff? Just a birder eBooks. Some time ago I wrote a short piece about my 1984 Big Year. I put it on the blog and it got a good response, so I wrote up some more of my birding exploits just for your entertainment. To be honest the whole thing was a rather patchy rendition of events and so I have formalised the concept and turned the tales into a series that I call ‘Just a Birder’. 8211; how to be a patch birder comp...

The first addition was Semipalmated Sandpiper at the pits, and I’m glad I took the trouble to take a closer look, it would have been easy to dismiss the two birds as Least Sandpipers at range. The photos are of: Alder Flycatcher, Common Yellowthroat, Mourning Warbler and the same Alder Flycatcher. This entry was posted in Birds and wildlife. Leave a Reply Cancel reply. Bird and wildlife watching in Quebec and elsewhere. Just a birder eBooks. Who writes this stuff? May 18, 2015. Earlier in the day, well just after dawn actually, a spin around St-Lazare sand pits did little to enthuse and could best be described as ‘slow’. I did get a few shots of this Eastern Kingbird, another light-drinker at the best of times. These came out reasonably well though, I’m always happy to see them around for the summer. This entry was posted in Birds and wildlife. An unexpected big day.

Once I could drive I started to go further afield in Nottinghamshire, my home county, eventually finding Colwick Park. In 2003 my Wife Sandra and I moved to Quebec. The challenge of learning new birds, new systems and...
