Thursday, July 8, 2010. I headed out on my Yamaha jet ski and headed straight out into what I can describe best as a convoy of jet skis. We were instructed to follow the ski in front of us at a certain distance and I can tell you, those things are fast! The sand bar was so shallow we could stand and be about stomach deep in the water as we held our jet skis. The sand and water felt good and it was a welcomed and needed break. Monday, July 19, 2010. Another great weekend. Upper Ocoee on Saturday with a morning session at Hell Hole. Water was really cold and felt great. We had Hell Hole almost to ourselves for over an hour. Got to love play boating before the run. Then ran up top to hit the upper. Great run with tons of smiles. This coming weekend… Backpacking trip on Roan Mountain! These have been left to their own devices - a dwarf variety that self-seed and resurrect nicely for spots of gold among the green. Gardenia - probably too shady; not doing much, leaf tips a tad yellow but still managing. Probably wants fertiliser and more sun, I can probably attend to the former.
