But to me it sounded like the three heartbeats I carried with me. My own, which was racing and strong. And the beats of the babies that were stronger and louder than my own. How do I act normal? Nothing that I had experienced felt normal. I was still in Bizarro Land. I tried not to scream. I tried to laugh. I tried to not make people uncomfortable.
