http://hawkysbirdingblog.blogspot.com/2015_03_01_archive.html
Sunday, 22 March 2015. So yesterday was our last Kent survey of the winter and couldn't have ended any better for me when I stumbled on this cracking Shorelark. The bird was in with a small group of Skylark in stubble just south of egypt bay. Managed a couple of distant record shots before continuing on with my survey. Marsh Harrier numbers are now down with birds moving off to their breeding grounds, a few birds are staying. Tuesday, 10 March 2015. Parking by the bridge we walked east along the river ca...

Hawkys Blog: Patch Update 3/5/15
http://hawkysbirdingblog.blogspot.com/2015/06/patch-update-3515.html
Wednesday, 3 June 2015. Just as most of us were complaining of a poor wader passage this spring, it seems its still on. Four Temminck's Stints arrived on the target pools last Thursday (again curtesy of A.T) . Still small numbers of Dunlin being seen alongside the odd Sanderling, Greenshank and Ringed Plovers moving through in double figures. Last night Two Turnstone graced the pools, alongside a pair of Avocet. Still chance for another goody before summer kicks in - we hope! One of the resident Redshank.

Friday, 21 November 2014. Pom Skua's East Tilbury 21/11/14. Today's Essex high tide survey site produced a good mix of wildfowl and waders. Both Eider and Merganser were seen alongside Pintail and Brent in small numbers upriver, and an increase in Avocet and Dunlin with smaller numbers of Grey Plover and Bar-wits. Several Little gulls passed through over high tide, as did two POMARINE SKUA which sheered upriver causing brief panic amongst the roosting waders before carrying on upriver. Raven is still a f...

Bangor West Patchwork Challenge: February 2016
http://bangorwestndcp.blogspot.com/2016_02_01_archive.html
Bangor West Patchwork Challenge. Monday, 29 February 2016. Great to be back in the North East for another yomp round some excellent bird spots. We started with a visit to Newbiggin for a walk with the family and were rewarded with Mediterranean g. Ull and an Oystercatcher. With a sense of dignity as it posed on a tombstone in the church. All the following photos were taken by my friend and birding mate David who was experimenting with his new camera - a Christmas present from his wife. We moved to the Ca...

http://therandombirder.blogspot.com/2015/08/walthamstow-reservoirs_13.html
Thursday, August 13, 2015. Arriving mid-afternoon on Lockwood as the first phase of storms had past, there was much optimism in connecting with something displaced as a result of the lively weather. Limited rewards were a single Lapwing. That had settled on the shoreline before taking off high before heading south. Three Common Sandpiper. Were down in number from previous days, and my first Green Sandpiper. On the northside, and a juvenile Greater Black Backed Gull. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom).

http://therandombirder.blogspot.com/2015_08_01_archive.html
Wednesday, August 26, 2015. The rain of recent days has drawn in a deluge of migrants up and down the country with coastal areas faring well with some impressive numbers of passerines and passing seabirds. But for us city folk, there's stuff to find too and with a bit of luck, something like a Garganey. Not sure how I managed to miss the Spotted Flycatchers, but there was a single Gadwall. And around six Teal. There A flock of House Martin. Were feeding low over the hide complex. There were two Whinchat.
