Saturday, April 24, 2010. All over Walla Walla. Here are some photos taken over the past couple weeks, I went out about 5 times and enjoyed the birds, sunshine and the occasional muskrat. Friday, April 2, 2010. Long Billed Curlew and Horned Lark. I found the Long Billed Curlew and the Horned Lark wandering around Lambdin Road today. It was a sunny but windy day. Wednesday, March 31, 2010. American Dipper Nest and Young. Today up Mill Creek under a bridge I found an American Dipper nest with a pair of nesting American Dippers. After watching for awhile I saw the adults feeding the young. The young birds mouths can be seen as bright yellow open beaks. The nest is a round nest with a hole in it made from moss. Sunday, June 20, 2010. 6-18-10 Rooks to Bennington. Lots of Yellow Warblers out today, singing and flying around. The best surprise was the baby Yellow Warbler and the photo of the adult feeding it. Today I walked around Rooks Park just ahead of the fog. The sunshine felt great and the birds seemed to be enjoying it as well. Tuesday, December 22, 2009. Bird Count and Night Photo. The Walla Walla Christmas Bird count on December 19th went well and I got some pictures, though the lighting was poor. Also included is a picture from tonight. I found a Screech Owl on campus after figuring out which tree it was calling from. It also landed on the Baker Faculty Centers roof for a few seconds.
