August 3rd, 2015. Aug 3rd, 2015. The St. Claire. Was one of two excursion steamers that ferried passengers from the Detroit riverfront to Bob-Lo. An amusement park on Bois Blanc (Boblo) Island. Downriver in the Canadian side of the Detroit River. She was in operation from 1910 until 1991; the amusement park closed in 1993. When I was a wee tiny girl, my great-aunt took my sister and me to Bob-Lo. I don't remember the park, but I remember the boat ride. Dr Ron Katoo has been restoring the Ste. Claire.
