Over the Bridge: August 2015
http://overthebridgeatbribie.blogspot.com/2015_08_01_archive.html
Discovering life on Bribie Island. Saturday, August 29, 2015. Is an Australian ecosystem of coastal south-east Queensland characterised by flora-rich shrubland and heathland on deep, nutrient-poor, acidic, sandy soil. Seasonal changes in the water table due to rainfall create swamps. (so says Wikipedia). Apparently, the wildflower walk is an annual event, part of a number of nature walks in the area to mark the start of spring (which officially starts in 2 days). I should have worn gum boots. Fairy Cottage Part I. Fairy Cottage Part II. Monday, February 2, 2015. The Crafting and dog show Continues. Just a few photos for you this month. We have Pan and Kalen in their cute matching coats. We've had temps in the teens so when they go in the car they must wear coats. They are helping my student Autumn sew here. She put ties on their necks. She is making a cherry Valentine dress to wear on Valentines day. This project is from my friend Rena she made as a Valentine gift. I love this! A Senior at UAF.

‘Faire la Bise’ – to kiss or not to kiss? | Fancying France
https://fancyingfrance.wordpress.com/2015/07/08/faire-la-bise-to-kiss-or-not-to-kiss
The musings of a ‘femme d’un certain âge’ who longs to live in France. July 8, 2015. 8216;Faire la Bise’ – to kiss or not to kiss? And then how many times? Greeting French people in France is a complicated matter. Rather than shaking hands, waving hello or hugging, people often greet each other with a kiss. So, when exactly do you use a kiss as a greeting? And, most important of all, how many kisses? But how many kisses and why the variation? It may be twice, three or even four. All in all, it can be qui...

The musings of a ‘femme d’un certain âge’ who longs to live in France. September 4, 2016. And now for something completely different…. Although we now have a house we don’t have any beds! As a result, we have been staying in a local hotel. However, there was one night when the hotel was unable to accommodate us and so we succumbed to the charms of a night on water. The ultimate way to experience the Canal du Midi. Evening view of the barge. Click to share on Twitter (Opens in new window). August 28, 2016.

The Williams Family: Captain America
http://thewilliamsfamilyblog-nicole.blogspot.com/2014/07/captain-america.html
In a gentle way, you can shake the world. -Mohandas Gandhi. Saturday, July 12, 2014. I couple of posts ago I wrote about the death of my beloved Tibetan Spaniel, Chang Po. He died at the age of 12 in August 2013. I was heart broken, but his death was quick and I was able to hold him, tell him I love him and thank him for being my sweet boy since the day he was born. Yes, I found him a collar on Etsy.com that has Captain America's shield on it. What a pretty boy! He wears his name well. Bob and Sophies Fr...

a very grand pressigny: October 2014
http://averygrandpressigny.blogspot.com/2014_10_01_archive.html
A very grand pressigny. October 22, 2014. Today is a BIG DAY for Nick. One of the main criteria when looking for a bigger house in France was that it had a garden big enough to require a sit-on mower! On Monday Nick cut the grass using the ancient heap of a petrol mower left behind for us by the previous owners. It was kind of them to leave it but it was hard work to use. After an hour of heaving the thing around Nick had sore wrists, a sore back and I had sore ears! More of the same Garden. As the conve...

a very grand pressigny: July 2014
http://averygrandpressigny.blogspot.com/2014_07_01_archive.html
A very grand pressigny. July 25, 2014. TWO WEEKS TOO LATE. The next house we saw had nothing much to either recommend it or not. It was an ordinary bungalow in an ordinary suburb. There was nothing much wrong with it, nor anything very exciting about it. It’s the sort of bungalow my dad would like and that we might like ourselves when we’re much older and want a house that’s easy to look after and maintain. You could even walk to the shops for a baguette. It was just a few thousand euros above our price ...

a very grand pressigny: April 2015
http://averygrandpressigny.blogspot.com/2015_04_01_archive.html
A very grand pressigny. April 18, 2015. As soon as the kitchen floor was finished we moved back in amongst the dust and chaos to begin the next phase, which was to board over the remaining walls and fit plumbing, gas and an electricity supply, ready for the imminent arrival of the kitchen units from the UK. At last the delivery arrived but when the lorry driver started unloading the pallets containing our beautiful brand new Magnet units I had a feeling that something was wrong and my heart sank. Insuran...

Quoi de neuf? (French news-1) | Fancying France
https://fancyingfrance.wordpress.com/2015/06/08/quoi-de-neuf-french-news-1
The musings of a ‘femme d’un certain âge’ who longs to live in France. June 8, 2015. I read a lot about France. This can be via blogs, newspapers or magazines and in French or English, depending how lazy or busy I am! Some items, in particular, catch my attention. Perhaps because my love affair with France started in Paris, I have been following the story about the ‘Pont des Arts’ with some interest. Pont des Arts love locks removed:. Here is a recent photo of the bridge, without the padlocks, taken by &...
