Monday, May 7, 2012. Walking from the Moon to the Sun, a table for friends. The table is 8 feet long x 35 inches tall x 17 inches deep. Completely made of plate steel and supporting two convex glass mirrors which represent the moon and the sun. A comet is made of birds eye maple wood. In 2000, I began using bronze as a material of permanence for certain pieces that could go outside in the elements. Each piece was first constructed in wood, a mold was made and then the piece was cast in bronze. With a mold I am able to create an edition of each piece.

I studied ceramics at UC Berkley under Peter Voulkos and James Melchert. I was always inspired by their creative approach to art. I never thought of clay as an end, but a means to an end. These pieces represent just a few of the directions I became involved in. I experimented with the use of various other materials, such as leather, flocking, and paint, and their relationship with clay.

I experimented with sports in high school, trying to win the hearts of beautiful girls, but was never too successful. At this time, I discovered cars and how girls loved cars.
