Monday, February 7, 2011. Lately I've found that I am more able to move heavy (or what's heavy to me.) weights for more reps during workouts, yet my 1 rep max numbers aren't jumping as quickly as they've done in the past. I find this interesting for two reasons:. On another note, the weekend warrior workouts this weekend were rough! I actually ripped my hand, which I hadn't done in almost six months. I guess 160 pull ups will do that to me. Here's Saturday morning's Defiant wod:. 100 wall ball (14/20#).

Sunday, October 3, 2010. Aaron's term from Aaron's Agoge. On workouts, I'm making a cash withdrawal from my account. Having that bank helps me put life into perspective. I'm not going to have 365 days in a year of perfect workouts. No one is. Yet all of us have an account to stock pile good days and bad, or credits and debits. I'm going to feel that one in my lats tomorrow. We also pulled the workouts we're going to do for our endurance October workout. It's "6 in 6"- 6 benchmark workouts in 6 hours!

Both my grandfathers served in combat in World War II, a time in which the politics of war are remembered in much simpler terms than the ongoing wars in the Middle East. Good guys fought, bad guys lost. Today we know that soldiers aren't the only ones losing their lives in combat. My grandfather is one of many whose letters are being preserved by The Letter Project.

Monday, March 8, 2010. I've got goals, yo. But until then I am setting out to achieve:. 1) sub-3 min 800 m run. 2) 1 handstand push up. 3) 1 ring dip. 4) double unders back to back. The problem with those 4 goals is that those are movements that I like (well, double unders not so much). I love the gymnastics part of crossfit. I should be working on things that I hate. Tonight I did a wod in the backyard. 10 swings 12 kg. Barbell Complex (from Atomic and Mountain Athlete):. 6 reps each-DL, bent over row, hang power clean, FS, PP, BS, push ups. Then 20 sit ups. That was a little confusing without a whiteboard to stay on track. I forgot the bent over rows a couple of times. Lots of work coming up! Anniebug, bugger or BUG.
