Films not Movies: Quarter One Movie Rankings

http://www.brashproductions.blogspot.com/2005/11/quarter-one-movie-rankings.html

Tuesday, November 08, 2005. Quarter One Movie Rankings. Best Movie of the Quarter Goes to. This film not only was the funniest film we saw this quarter but it also had some meaning. I never thought I would notice actual "film" aspects in a movie like. Who knew that I would love a movie made in Germany during the 1930s. Number 3, the feel good film of the quarter. How could you not like. Daniel Day Lewis plays one of the hardest roles any actor could possibly encounter and he masters it. I never new C...

Films not Movies: The Death of Mario

http://www.brashproductions.blogspot.com/2005/11/death-of-mario.html

Tuesday, November 08, 2005. The Death of Mario. One of the questions left at the end of The Wages of Fear is the death of Mario, suicide or accident? When Mario is making his triumphant return to Las Piedras he decides to drive like an idiot. Swerving along narrow roads, clutching his lucky ticket with a huge smile on his face, not to mention the nice check in his pocket all point to signs of an accident in the making. Or is that accident in the making a suicide in the making. Posted by Ben at 4:24 PM.

Films not Movies: Munich

http://www.brashproductions.blogspot.com/2006/01/munich.html

Thursday, January 05, 2006. Directed by Steven Spielberg. Steven Spielberg’s latest film, Munich, is his take on the gripping events that took place to the world during the 1972 Olympic Summer games and the aftermath of those events. Spielberg, through a series of flashbacks from his central character Avner Kaufman (Bana), shows the horror as Palestinian terrorists killed 11 Israeli athletes. Posted by Ben at 7:56 PM. Films not Movies: Jarhead (2005)

http://www.brashproductions.blogspot.com/2005/11/jarhead-2005.html

Monday, November 07, 2005. Peter SarsgaardTroyJamie FoxxStaff Sgt. Sykes. Right from the start Jarhead is not what you expect from a modern day war movie. If I could compare this movie to anything it would be a cross of Ridley Scott’s Black Hawk Down and Stanley Kubrik’s Full Metal Jacket. Posted by Ben at 3:06 PM. No one thought I'd be in this class: December 2005

http://crweibsblog.blogspot.com/2005_12_01_archive.html

No one thought I'd be in this class. Thursday, December 29, 2005. Thanks Scott Wolfe, truly. Posted by Craig @ 9:30 PM. Tuesday, December 27, 2005. I know my Shine piece has been missing for a while, and that is partly because I missed the film, and partly because I forgot to get the notes. I did watch the film, and therefore it must be blogged about. Posted by Craig @ 9:31 PM. Tuesday, December 20, 2005. What is with the lack of quality of film lately? Posted by Craig @ 10:08 PM. Posted by Craig @ 10:27 PM. Existentialism in "Wages of Fear". Some examples of existentialist questions are: Is there a G-d? What is my place? Why am I here? Art there such things as chances, luck, fate or destiny? What governs the universe? Mario repsonded by saying, "And aren't we? Posted by Craig @ 9:49 PM. Best Villain ...

http://crweibsblog.blogspot.com/2005_10_01_archive.html

No one thought I'd be in this class. Monday, October 31, 2005. If I were to put Last of the Mohicans on the Continuum o. F Formalism, Classicism, and Realism, I would put it to the left of High Noon, about a third of the way between Documentary (Realism) and Fiction (Classicism). If I were to put this movie in a genre, it would be realistic fiction, which is a fictional story in a very realistic situation. I feel that this describes Last of the Mohicans very well. The setting was in colonial. Because it ...

I'm from the government. I'm here to help. Monday, February 06, 2006. Art of Film - FINAL ANALYSIS. I thought I would do a few entries to look back at everyone's final projects. I'm instituting a new award too; so long Oscar. Hello, Baby Daz:. La Douche de L’espirit. US title: La Douche de L’espirit. Pronounced “dee-MIE-nus”). Bathroom scenes; a few inaudible moments; poor kid whom Craig yells at in the hallway probably still in shock. View my complete profile. Our Next Film Is. The Baby Daz Goes to.

http://mrdfilm.blogspot.com/2006_02_01_archive.html

I'm from the government. I'm here to help. Sunday, February 26, 2006. Our Next Film Is. Perhaps the only film in our festival to play it straight- and 'right down the line,' if you know what I mean. Moonshine. Is no moonlight serenade; this is one cynical little film! Night-vision shooting on school grounds; tracking shot of school hallway cieling as the credits roll and the camera tilts down to follow Thomas walking- very smooth! And who died and why? Luna is some femme fatale! THE ENVELOPE PLEASE: This...

What does it mean? Is M for murderer? Is that why the beggar chalks an M on the back of his coat? Another film technique used well was the montage towards the end of our viewing on Friday. They showed broken doors, splintered wood, passed out watchmen, and a hole in the floor. Posted by Craig @ 4:23 PM. This mov...
