Rolling Boulders Uphill – Half Assed
https://airborneprimates.wordpress.com/2017/01/02/rolling-boulders-uphill
Oh Lord, What Have I done? Surgery for fat pad impingement, plica removal and some oddly large ligament removal came and went at the end of January 2016, 4 weeks later I was riding some and 4 weeks after that, I began to ease into running. IMCDA, still on the table. For 6 weeks. No one wants to say that’s what caused it, they ho hum around it and make comments about it being pushed too far too fast. Maybe it’s not what caused the swelling, maybe it is a coincidence in timing. I...For all of my mental ...

Sweet Jesus – Half Assed
https://airborneprimates.wordpress.com/2016/08/22/sweet-jesus
Oh Lord, What Have I done? I was supposed to be racing in CDA yesterday. I’ve had a bit of an emotional reaction to the entire thing, more than I expected…unmet goals and stuff. They are having it August 27th next year. So…my goal is to be there come hell or high water, whatever that means. 8221; You’re in for a shock when you get out in the world, kid. August 22, 2016. Girl Gone WILD: September 2014
http://breepct.blogspot.com/2014_09_01_archive.html
1,600 miles of alone time on the Pacific Crest Trail. What was I thinking? Commiserate with me; celebrate with me. Monday, September 1, 2014. Day 78: sucked in. We get a ride into Goldbar (a town 13 miles away, but with an actual grocery store), from a mother and daughter who know the Dinsmores from way back, and are used to picking up hiker trash. On the way we stop at a roadside coffee stall, apparently famous for being in Harry and the Hendersons. I take pictures. We are the envy of all the other hike...

Girl Gone WILD: May 2014

1,600 miles of alone time on the Pacific Crest Trail. What was I thinking? Commiserate with me; celebrate with me. Wednesday, May 28, 2014. Today, when I started throwing up, I began seriously questioning the Universe. It came to me last night- that old saying, "everything that CAN go wrong WILL go wrong." It was right after my dad had to go to the hospital for his kidney stones, and we realized he might not be able to make it on the flight with us on Friday to head to my starting point. Okay, here it is.

Girl Gone WILD: Day 79: a travel day
http://breepct.blogspot.com/2014/10/day-79-travel-day.html
1,600 miles of alone time on the Pacific Crest Trail. What was I thinking? Commiserate with me; celebrate with me. Thursday, October 9, 2014. Day 79: a travel day. Getting over to Stehekin is no small task, since there are no roads into this small mountain area. It requires getting a ride into Leavenworth, taking a bus from Leavenworth to Lake Chelan, and then taking a boat across Lake Chelan to Stehekin. And tell Borealis that I hope to see him in Canada. Girl Gone WILD: Why Am I Doing This?
http://breepct.blogspot.com/p/why.html
1,600 miles of alone time on the Pacific Crest Trail. What was I thinking? Commiserate with me; celebrate with me. Why Am I Doing This? Friends, Family, random people.so it begins. I'm doing this to push my boundaries; to get out of my comfort zone; to find myself by losing myself, and all the other reasons someone would choose to do a long-distance solo hike. This is a journey of self-discovery, but more than anything I'm doing this because I have the opportunity and I'm not getting any younger! Maybe w...

Girl Gone WILD: October 2014
http://breepct.blogspot.com/2014_10_01_archive.html
1,600 miles of alone time on the Pacific Crest Trail. What was I thinking? Commiserate with me; celebrate with me. Tuesday, October 14, 2014. Day 81: A rainy day without water. I love/hate this routine. I'm a couple of miles from Rainy Pass, which I find just so cliche. I put on my rain gear, and scoot against a wide tree, which seems to be keeping everything underneath it relatively dry. I make a hiker trash burrito and dip it in my newly obtained apple sauce. I am loving lunch. Pip, is that you? I make...

Girl Gone WILD: July 2014
http://breepct.blogspot.com/2014_07_01_archive.html
1,600 miles of alone time on the Pacific Crest Trail. What was I thinking? Commiserate with me; celebrate with me. Thursday, July 31, 2014. Day 51: Crater Lake! Knief and REI stop by my tent in the morning and have bought me coffee with all the fixings. I love these hikers. It's a beautiful, sunny day, without a cloud in the sky, so we are finally able to see the lake in all it's glory! Day 50: Crater Lake, oh wait, not really. The rain is only getting worse, and while I can tell Barrel is anxious to lea...
