My Mission and the Adventures along the Way! You are here :. Monthly archives for 2014/12. December 17, 2014. Catching you up on some of the other happenings in the past month…since I’ve been too busy to do it before. Here at the mission farm we have 354 lychee trees…I know because I asked today. Since I got here in September I have been watching those trees…just waiting for the lychees to be ready! Keeping my toes up so the ants wouldn’t crawl on them! A BIG pile of lychees. December 17, 2014. I can har...

We played tug o’ war for an hour at VBS that day! Photo credit: Helen Gilbert). The last few weeks here in Mozambique have definitely been “buzzing”! I even got to experience the joy of a wet, muddy sponge right in the face! Here’s a few pictures from the week…. Listening to the Bible story. Photo credit: Helen Gilbert). This year ...

...Tales of Life in Mozambique: The start of 2014
http://lynnlagore.blogspot.com/2014/01/the-start-of-2014.html
Tales of Life in Mozambique. Saturday, January 25, 2014. The start of 2014. Nasty enough for me. One of our stops on one of our trips between SA and Moz was at Messina just south of Zimbabwe. We "climbed" a rock. As you can see, I did it in flip flops so probably can't officially be classified as climbing. It's a unique part of the country and is full of Baobabs and rock outcrops. It's also HOT there. To add to our Christmas and New Year's celebrations, we also celebrated the first landing of the Cessna ...
...Tales of Life in Mozambique: Dirty Letters
http://lynnlagore.blogspot.com/2013/05/dirty-letters.html
Tales of Life in Mozambique. Friday, May 24, 2013. Written last week, before leaving for Canada to attend our son's wedding, SAM Ministries' annual banquet, etc.:. It can be very hard to connect this world with other worlds. This world is rather basic. We have bugs and dirt and low-end technology (when it works). Other worlds are super-hygienic, bug-free (a luxury where, as my daughter put it, is to ask oneself "how did that bug get inside? This is why these dirty letters mean what they do to me. Eac...

Tales of Life in Mozambique. Sunday, August 12, 2012. But back to the trip home and photos of the event (since I always take photos along the way). There's always something interesting in store on these trips. First there was the packing- no small feat since we were hauling all our luggage plus a car-full of tents and a car-full of training materials (see previous post). After about 12 hours on the road, we stopped at our "hotel" called "The Honey Pot". the rooms are quaint little wood cabins with on...

Tales of Life in Mozambique. Tuesday, April 30, 2013. Links to this post. Sunday, April 28, 2013. We attended and shared in a church today just up the highway from us. Last time we were here, they were still meeting in a mud hut but busy making bricks by hand for this building. Now their building is up and even has a tin roof. It's wonderful to see progress! Lunch at the Pastor's house with Dwight, Cara Bob and Sharon, Jackson, Carlito and his brother, Kyra, and Joao. Links to this post. This afternoon, ...

Tales of Life in Mozambique. Monday, February 04, 2013. About mud, and getting stuck, and other stuff. I was going to start off talking about getting stuck in mud but realized I was stuck having almost 0 internet bandwidth first thing this morning. And my Movitel modem is out of time so.we'll see how this goes. Oh the joys of bush life :). At least to the other side. We were all lugging stones and branches and our feet were sinking in the squishy mud. Here Eric and Elizabeth packing more stones.). Turns ...

http://lynnlagore.blogspot.com/2013/09/a-boy-mouse-burrow-and-snake.html
Tales of Life in Mozambique. Sunday, September 08, 2013. A boy, a mouse burrow, and a snake. Last night, right after supper, I got a call. It was one of the health workers. Someone had come to his home and asked if he would give a 9 year old child with a snakebite an injection. From there we walked to the home where the child was. The guys with me used their cell phones to light their way. I had brought my MAG light and in a community that has no electricity and is very dark at night, I was the b...When ...

...Tales of Life in Mozambique: June 2012
http://lynnlagore.blogspot.com/2012_06_01_archive.html
Tales of Life in Mozambique. Friday, June 01, 2012. Since I wrote last, we've been north, south, east, and west, either by air, by rail or moving sidewalk (ok, just in airports but that counts too), but mostly by car, guided impeccably- at least most of the time- by GPS. The pace has been hurried and time has been limited, which means there has been little time to write. So allow me barrage you with some of my favorite (albe-they rather odd) photos take over the past month. But who reads directions?

WANTED
Because God makes everything beautiful in it's time . . . Wednesday, November 29, 2017. Just this week, our medical missionary and myself were called to a small shack in our barangay at the end of a muddy road. What greeted us as we entered the small hut was a woman about 30 years old, bound by her hands and feet and almost non-responsive. The CT scan revealed some anomalies with the brain and we informed the family this young woman would need to be admitted to the hospital for an in depth blood chemistry.

Friday, May 13, 2016. Sixteen Candles (A Birthday in Heaven). That is wonderful, it really is! Last year for Jacob's 15th Birthday we started a tradition. We build one of Jacob's Lego sets each year on his Birthday now. As a reminder of the boy who loved Legos! Whenever we do this, oh my goodness we have the best time! I can't explain it but every time we build his Legos it's like he is there with us. Maybe he is. How amazing is that? One day we will get to hear Him say that! Mahal Kita.I love you! Socie...
