"Super G": December 2013
http://gretchenannemcnally.blogspot.com/2013_12_01_archive.html
Friday, December 13, 2013. I'm halfway through my secondary ACL prevention program. I followed up with my knee surgeon, David Flanigan. I really like him, he's very personable, which is definitely not what surgeons are known for. Hahahaha! He was super busy, and running behind, which was unusual for him, but he still spent a lot of time with me. I didn't feel rushed at all. Matt and I celebrated with some chicken, pasta and wine! You can't really see it, but the wine is "Middle Sister", which I am!

"Super G": The Immortal Life of Henrietta Lacks
http://gretchenannemcnally.blogspot.com/2010/10/immortal-life-of-henrietta-lacks.html
Sunday, October 10, 2010. The Immortal Life of Henrietta Lacks. Rebecca Skloot devoted 10 years of her life to discovering and writing about Henrietta Lacks and her family. Who was Henrietta Lacks? Henrietta Lacks was a poor African American diagnosed and treated for advanced cervical cancer at John Hopkins. Before her death in 1951 (at age 30), Henrietta unknowingly made the greatest medical contribution ever: her cervical cells. I simply had no idea. Gretchen A. McNally. Sunday, October 10, 2010. "Super G": Guess what?!!!!! Just had my 11 month ACL visit!
http://gretchenannemcnally.blogspot.com/2013/08/guess-what-just-had-my-11-month-acl.html
Thursday, August 29, 2013. Just had my 11 month ACL visit! Yesterday I had my 11 month ACL visit with my surgeon- a little early, but all the same. Before it I had an ISO(kinetic) test to test the strength in my quads and hamstring of both legs. This was test #3. And I really did not care what the outcome was. I knew I was going to continue physical therapy visits until I didn't have any left- probably the first week of November. I was better when I repeated this to Dr. Flanigan). I saw Dr. Flanigan&...

"Super G": November 2013
http://gretchenannemcnally.blogspot.com/2013_11_01_archive.html
Thursday, November 28, 2013. 1 Eye surgeon- Mary Lou McGregor at Children's, who is AWESOME! I had my annual appointment. I've had four eye surgeries over 2 years to correct my double vision. My last surgery was in the fall of 2011? Anyways, I still have some residual double vision, mostly if I tilt my head (so no lying on the couch to watch TV), or if I look down. I have bad teeth (they look good though! 3 Pretest for my secondary ACL prevention program. First they did all kinds of measurements (my left...

"Super G": Yeah! AWESOME 4.5 month PT visit!
http://gretchenannemcnally.blogspot.com/2013/02/yeah-awesome-45-month-pt-visit.html
Tuesday, February 12, 2013. AWESOME 4.5 month PT visit! I just had to write. Last night's PT session was AWESOME. I felt on top of the world. My PT Andrew thought I was doing really good. We even "practiced" part of the ISO(metric) test. The one everyone fails the first time. I thought 100 was the best, as in 100%. That is until I hit like 120 on my third try with my right leg. My left (surgical) knee was not as good, my third time was maybe 85-90%. Rather some people are more nervous to really kick out.

"Super G": ACL/Meniscus reconstruction
http://gretchenannemcnally.blogspot.com/2012/10/aclmeniscus-reconstruction.html
Thursday, October 11, 2012. I had ACL/meniscus reconstruction Tuesday 10/2/2012. My surgeon was Dr. Flanigan from OSU and his team included his PA Kyle and PT Fawn. The surgery was at OSU East and I could not be more impressed with the surgical teams- preop, op and post op. There I am after surgery, all smiles! I can remember the anesthesia team giving me my happy juice (versed), and telling me I wouldn't remember anything. I asked them not to make me say embarrassing things. I also told them I h...This ...

"Super G": I feel GREAT! And I had my 9 month post op appt. last week. ( #aclreconstruction )
http://gretchenannemcnally.blogspot.com/2013/07/i-feel-great-and-i-had-my-9-month-post.html
Saturday, July 6, 2013. And I had my 9 month post op appt. last week. ( #aclreconstruction ). Today I ran 8 miles! My farthest to this point was a 10K. And the last 1-2 miles I started having some knee discomfort, but not too bad and I pushed on. My goal was to return to soccer in August. This won't happen, and probably will be late fall/winter. I am just starting to focus on jumping in PT (plyometrics) and will hopefully start doing cutting/pivoting. Gretchen A. McNally. Saturday, July 06, 2013.
