Piaw's Blog: Berkeley Hills Ride
http://piaw.blogspot.com/2007/10/berkeley-hills-ride.html
I'm a husband, father, author, cyclist, sailor, travel addict, and former Silicon Valley software engineer. I've written 3 books and actively review books on this blog. Comments on this blog are aggressively moderated against link-spam and rude or meaningless comments. Sunday, October 28, 2007. At the intersection with Alhambra Valley Road, we opted for the longer ride, and Greg pulled us for a bit before taking off to do some shopping with his daughter. We then made our way over to Pinole and Richmo...

my frozen shoulder: zinc
http://myfrozenshoulder.blogspot.com/2010/04/zinc.html
Saturday, April 3, 2010. Early on, I asked both my doctor and my physical therapist if there was anything I could do nutritionally to improve my condition. It's unfortunate, but still very typical, that medical professionals appear to know next to nothing about nutrition. In any case, nobody had a suggestion. As for the science, you can find suggestive, but not definitive, research that zinc is important to production of collagen. In rats, anyway. I'm taking a copper supplement (2 mg of copper gluconate,...

my frozen shoulder: mri results
http://myfrozenshoulder.blogspot.com/2010/03/mri-results.html
Monday, March 15, 2010. Left shoulder coronal view. Left shoulder sagittal view. Left shoulder axial view. The next week, while I was cooling my heels in the doctor's office, I took a look at the MRI report which was open on a computer screen in the exam room. Here's what it said:. Examination: MRI study of the left shoulder. History: Left shoulder weakness and stiffness with history of earlier injury. Technique: Axial coronal and sagittal T1 and T2-weighted images of the left shoulder are reviewed.

my frozen shoulder: more progress
http://myfrozenshoulder.blogspot.com/2010/04/more-progress.html
Sunday, April 11, 2010. I went for a hike. Today I took a trail which involved some arm work; reaching out to balance, climb, and support my weight in a few places. There wasn't much of that, but enough to test the arm a little. I had taken this same trail at the beginning of March, and my shoulder bothered me a lot after doing that. Today, it was a pretty big contrast. The shoulder still hurt some, but it felt much more flexible. That's very encouraging! Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom).

Easily Amused, Often Annoyed: March 2012
http://kraftykarmakat.blogspot.com/2012_03_01_archive.html
Easily Amused, Often Annoyed. Wednesday, March 21, 2012. Reading Meme, Part I. Several of my on-line friends are doing a daily reading meme this month and have encouraged me to join. Me, being me, I'm waiting until the 21st to post any of my answers, and plan to do it in probably three hunks. With any luck, I'll finish with my answers before the end of the year:). Day 1 - What was your favorite read from last year? Day 2 - Name a book that you have read more than three times. Ok, I could start a flame wa...

Easily Amused, Often Annoyed: August 2010
http://kraftykarmakat.blogspot.com/2010_08_01_archive.html
Easily Amused, Often Annoyed. Sunday, August 15, 2010. Ok, this is probably not going to completely satisfy my friend Ernie who has been on my case to blog more, but this is too good not to share. My friend Janice sent me a link to a blog post that she described as, "This is so you." And it is. So without further ado, I share with you the elusive 'alot' from Hyperbole and a Half. Well, actually, he's not that elusive. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). Shelfari: Book reviews on your book blog.

Easily Amused, Often Annoyed: January 2010
http://kraftykarmakat.blogspot.com/2010_01_01_archive.html
Easily Amused, Often Annoyed. Friday, January 22, 2010. The Annual Biking Update. And I'm even managing to do it before the first month of the new year is over! And then the rains of September came. And then I started climbing Stone Mountain with a friend several times a week. And then I started climbing the mountain on my own a couple more days a week. And biking basically stopped. But even with that, I had a decent year. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). Shelfari: Book reviews on your book blog.

Easily Amused, Often Annoyed: January 2015
http://kraftykarmakat.blogspot.com/2015_01_01_archive.html
Easily Amused, Often Annoyed. Saturday, January 17, 2015. As my friends and family know, I spend a lot of time at Stone Mountain Park. The park is less than five miles from my house, and in addition to being a great place to get outdoors, it is also a great place to enjoy a work-out "en plein air." My favorite way to get exercise there is by climbing (and then coming back down) the aptly named "Walk-Up Trail.". Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). Shelfari: Book reviews on your book blog.
