Monday, 26 August 2013. The cap (with repainted fantail) is due to be lifted back on to the mill tower on the morning of Thursday 29th August. Friday, 28 March 2014. Grand Reopening of Stevens Mill. On Sunday 13th April Burwell Museum Trust reopens its windmill, Stevens' Mill, to the public following a year-long restoration. The museum site will be open to the public from 12 noon - 4pm. Free Admission! The reopening ceremony of the windmill starts at 12.30pm - Sir James Paice MP will officially open the windmill at 12.45pm. This form can be downloaded from our website. The repairs are still on schedule, with the cap now due to go back on in late August (sometime before the Bank Holiday weekend) - and the sails going on in October or November. Saturday, 16 February 2013. Sails-Off Photos and Video. Two days of hard work from the basket of a cherry picker resulted in the removal of the windmill’s sails on 13th February.
